Smith has only been in the Premier League for 7 months, why do you think he looks clueless? Just give him time. Didn’t Newcastle give Pardew an 8 year contract? They clearly had faith in him, I think he’s an excellent manager, according to Wikipedia, he’s at Ado Den Haag now, I didn’t know that, thanks for educating me

Smith has failed to get the basics right any coach at minimum should achieve  it's called  organisation. We look lost at times, can't defend, can't settle on a system ,mistakes after mistakes and of late team lacking fight.

  2. No point changing him during this period can't even train.Should have gone week's before this issue he was on his last legs against the Chelsea game we reacted to slow for me.

By the same token I've not really seen a persuasive argument for saying he has failed and should be sacked.  He exceeded expectations in getting us promoted so quick, exceeded expectations in the League Cup and looks like we are staying in the Prem despite having a flawed and inexperienced squad.  Let's just wait and see what happens with the rest of the season first, then we can plan properly for whatever comes.

He hasn't failed ?.All I hear it's on the players there not good enough etc etc or promotion . Any coach bare minimum should be to have his side organised with a plan and a system that he goes with no matter the quality of players. He has neither mistakes after mistakes, disjointed side and chopping and changing systems. We a getting worse by the week no improvement and now lacking fight at times. Any coach who can't get that should be gone.

  4. For all the Smith lovers and saying big Sam football is dour Smith's this year has be utter garbage. You do anything to stay up in the Premier League we a no guarantees to go up again in one year.Under Smith where in a rot and nothing has improved.Need a fresh voice.

  5. To many exuses for Smith for me hearing there not his players he signed there not Premier League standard etc.How about the focus on him as a manager. We look disjointed, unorganized, no plan swapping system's and the amount of errors there bare minimum a manager should get right. To much loyalty in the fact he got us promoted and is a villa boy.Lets be honest our style of football has be dour to.

  6. I'm not blaming Smith only the players have to take the rapt to ,but gez the team looks so badly setup, unorganized and errors after errors. Now if you cannot atleast do the above as a manager no matter what players you have well the rest is history. This rot has been going for the last 6 weeks worse now tho seeing lack of fight at times.

  7. Problem for us is the players don't look desperate for the fight my take we see it here and there. We have looked relegated the last 6 weeks the amount of errors and disorganization is laughable.

Anyone thinking we'll get a Sam figure in is in for disappointment.

I'd be stunned if they sack Smith.

Why is that through ?.Promotion and villaboy there not his players etc load of rubbish. We have looked like a team relegated last 6 weeks for me and there was time for a change. His not doing the basics right owners should wakeup.

  9. Same continues weekly unorganized, errors,no plan no improvement in any of these. These a basics a manager should impose on his team at minimum. Our exuse is there not his players they may not be ,but he can't even achieve the above .Now we look like we a lacking fight.

I hear all this he got us promotion etc what's that got to do with it look at the present out of his depth should have been gone weeks ago.

Right, so it’s the monetary value of transfers that dictates how organised a team is? Nothing to do the team having years and years under the one manager to build a cohesive system?

Unreal how some people keep bringing up the “we spent more than the other two promoted sides” argument without paying any respect to the fact that we needed to rebuild an entire squad whilst they did not.

So your saying the mistakes happening weekly getting worse by the games is because we haven't had years under our manager unlike Sheffield United. That's a weake exuse even a amature side can get the organisation right and can cut the school boy errors that atleast is the basics in football you should have or else shouldn't be in the game. That doesn't take years under a manager.

Yeah we spent big out of the promotion clubs no way near we should be as bad as we a some signings have been bad.Like I said you can't even say we look organised or do the basics correct.

  11. Might be againt the common theme here , but I think he has been found out at times in the Premier League and rated a bit to highly.Maybe got nothing to work with him by his side to, but switches off to often.

I can't think of any logical basis to sack the man that got us to the final completely unexpectedly in the first place? Or would you have preferred a heroic loss to Leicester as a different stick to beat Smith with?

I understand people are getting irte, but personally if you expected anything other than a relegation scrap this year you were deluded. A relegation scrap by definition means struggling most weeks to get anything out of games. It measn being one of the shitter teams in the league. Why more people weren't mentally ready for this is beyond me. I think the board knew exactly that the mission for this year was 17th, they will have known full well that a decent player at this level costs north of £25m these days and we needed MORE than a whole teams worth and had £150m to spend.

Sacking Smith would be a terrible decision, sacking Smith if we get relegated would be a bad decision too, as then essentially you're sacking him for getting us promoted a season too soon. If we do go down we will need consistency from the top to try and keep the best of the group together and rebuild to come straight back up. This time without a 38 player turnover to handle at the same time.

Problem is were getting worse by the week and yesterday we weren't competitive that's the bad part. We look unorganized and all over the place his the manager the buck stops with him.You look at Sheffield United how organised they a  spend peanuts. For some reason people keep talking about promotion etc that's gone now take the romance out of the Smith situation focus on the present.Smith would be gone if he was at another club fullstop.

  13. His not to blame totally for our persistent mistakes, but questions should be asked. Week in week out the continuity of school boy mistakes poor defending etc.We look so disorganised in the back 4 nothing changes through  weekly amazing to with JT in our coaching staff to.

I think he should be under more pressure to be honest.

We'll look a lot better when core of players have been playing together several seasons like SU

We don't have that time and the problem is I don't see it we can't do the basics right first off defend concede so many poor goals.
