No, I was linking to the tweet that I had posted:

The chap whose tweet I quoted would however claim to understand it. Yes, I know it's for the financial year ended 31/05/07 because I posted that very thing: whilst it isn't £5-£6 million a month for yr ended 31/05/17, it's still £47m for that year according to this tweet and the cashflow statement for that year.

    Did you understand them?

Care to explain what that money was for?

You are claiming that the Consolidated cashflow statement for the year ended 31 May 2017 is wrong?

Edit: Where in the cashflow statment is a figure for wages?

I clicked on the link and it came up with a list of lots of different clubs and figures, I assumed that was what you were linking.

As for the cash flow statement, I wouldn't claim to understand that however I would point out it is for 2016/2017

This is actually a really good point and isn't something I have thought about... if Xia had been putting 5 million per month into the club to keep it afloat since he started surely that would be showing in the account. 5 million a month for 24 months is 120 million pounds. Even if it was a million a month 24 million pounds would be showing as being put into the club as an income... i believe a club owner can only put in a certain amount per year outside of sponsorship.

Anyone have the answer to this? I imagine the press have massively blown it out of proportion.

The way I imagine it has gone is that we had a stockpile of cash plus parachute payments when Xia took over the club, throughout the two seasons we have used the cash to cover all of the bills (overheads, transfers, wages etc). The board banked on us going up this season and for that now depleted stockpile of cash to be refilled with large sponsorship deals and premier league tv revenue along with any money Xia could invest himself. When we didn't get promoted the money didn't come in as we had banked on and so we now have to find other ways of getting it... this being Xia having to move money across to the club (which he wasn't previously having to do due to the money the club had in their accounts), he has now realised this is more difficult than it was when he took over the club.

We now just have to hope that Xia finds a way to get the money into the club to cover the bills for another season, whilst at the same time reducing the overheads (largely wages) to overcome the income/outgoing deficit.

Xia can put up to 39m into the club over 3 years.

unless of course xia is putting 4-6m per month to cover bills and when we submitt our ffp statement we get hammered.

FFP doesnt stop debts accumulating. it just punishes you if you do.

Ok, except we know roughly what our outgoings are and it would require no where near that 4-6m per month to add to our income to cover the bills ergo even without FFP the stories are rubbish.

Like everyone else, I know we are losing money but it certainly isnt that much per month

Thats for FFP ....and part of the issue is that we look set to exceed £13m over 3 years.

a quite separate problem and more significant is that we dont have enough cash to meet our monthly bills. so Xia has to fund that shortfall himself as Randy did. or load that onto club debt with a loan presumably with interest payable.

now we dont know that - but the club has been loss making for a while so to have more going out than coming in ....isnt that improbable. we all knew Randy covered it as his own wealth was reported at 2bn. we have so info on xia...so the assumption he is covering it with loans seems entirley feasible to me.

its 39 million over 3 years so 13 million per year.

You aren't going to break FFP rules on putting money into the club to get fined/deducted points.

IF you are going to put some money into the club and you have already gone over your 13 million you are going to do naming rights to the ground or something similar.

the point remains you guys all know nothing about the financial situation as none of us do, you do however know the FFP rules so you know the stories of 4-6m per month being put in is rubbish, and lest we forget our expenses are about that amount per month, are we pretending we don't have an income now to confirm our biases?

I can’t believe that anyone is seriously thinking that the club’s finances are fine and we are ticking along nicely with Xia at all he helm!! We are royally screwed unless we get either huge multi million investment or are sold completely. At present we are existing month to month by borrowing money from anyone who will help. Now where’s that cup if Kenco I can smell!!!

Are we? Seen the accounts? Or are you listening to the papers who are proven to talk bollocks.

This us true, however it becomes a 'story' if there is a risk we CAN'T pay it and fyi, the money we WERE owed for transfers, we've actually settled with clubs early and for less to get the cash. For example we were owed money for Gil and Sanchez to name but two (there are others) where we said, if you pay us now we will knock x amount of the price. Is that a GOOD thing? It's reported as bad as it is bad. Debt is not a problem at all UNTIL you don't have the means to be it back How anyone can be happy and saying "it's much ado about nothing" when we're literally living month to month to see if we can pay our bills. Next date is the 29th June when the players and staff need paying, so we don't KNOW we can pay that yet, so there is no reassurance or good news. I see it as there are those who are rightly worried and those that think all of this has been blown up to be bigger than it is and say we assume its somewhere in the middle, it's still pretty scary. To me anyway.

Is it a good thing? Neither yes or no, that's the point with paying early or in one go you get less money thats how the system works.

As for Gil I havent heard of us getting his money early as we have only this month sold him.

Hmmmm, so £5m keeps us alive another month, EFL wanted to meet us to ensure we could fulfil our fixture commitments for next season but are now happy we are alive till halfway through close season,  and how does £5m solve the £11m the press say we owe this month for transfers?

If I've said it once I've said it 100 times.

It's almost like the press don't have a clue what's going on and just make shit up.

I find the 11m amusing to be honest, its almost spoken about like ooo look how bad it is when in reality its very rare players transfers are paid for in one go and of course they never mention what is owed to us.

I just don't see a queue forming to bail out an owner that has us in this financial position.

It all depends on what is on the table.....I can't see Tony recovering the bulk of his money.....a modest fee and cover the debts maybe.

Well, that would depend on the clubs REAL financial position which none of us know.

Tony brought the club knowing he had the extra income from parachute payments for three years, one assumes the clubs price is lower simply because 2 of those 3 years have passed by regardless of financial position.

No one is really expected to grasp the potential gravity, due to an absence of firm, meaningful information.....its a bed partner of deceit.

There is a danger of this appearing like Brexit.

Create a smokescreen of complexity and debate, to such a point no ones knows if they are coming or going.

anything can be relatively simple, when broken down.....if folk want it to be.

quite frankly i am lost in the fog of it all.

    Indeed.

I haven't commented in about a week because frankly there isn't anything to comment on as there is no new credible information.

John percy reporting that we need to raise £50 million in the next two windows.

I saw the same exact story released by two papers at exactly the same time.

If this exists then they should give some sort of substantive reason.

So for example we have saved about 17 million in wages just by letting the loan players go and a few transfers..... is that included? How about the fee for Amavi? The Recon deal for the training ground etc.

Its all airy fairy to me and for me to take it seriously I need some substance rather than a throw away line, they can be more specific if they have actual information.

I was waiting to hear what the guy in the back of the computer shop's mate's brother's whatever had to say on all goings on at Villa. Now I know. Definitely true.

Well, that was rude, I just passed on what I heard I didn't make out like I'm ITK.

FYI it was made out it was the son of someone connected to the hierarchy either past or present.

I guess you will find out tomorrow as the media usually reports when someone has a medical.
