When he was appointed it should have only been a short term appointment until the summer.

We needed an experienced manager to carry out the rebuild.At the time I thought the team that went down was one of the worst villa teams I had ever seen but a lot of those players were actually pretty good they needed more experience around them some players like Terry etc and relegation might not have happened

Expectations need to be modified.We looked very tired 20 mins from end I wonder if we can maintain this high intensity pressing football for whole season?The passing and possession was as poor as we had under Bruce .In fact it looked very similar to how we played under Bruce.Goal keeper not at fault for any of goals .People claim new defensive signings will solve all the problems not convinced myself..

We seem too open in middle and teams seem to get into attacking positions without resistance.

Play offs still a possibility even though we have some easier games coming up I don't see us winning every one.

Just to provide some hope after 20 games Fulham were 15 th on 26 points 11 points behind 3rd placed Bristol city

It just shows teams can rise up and fall away and position in December not good indicator of final position

I think having 8 genuine promotion contenders  means on a given weekend they can't all lose if we win.

That means making up 5,6 or more points is going to difficult.

Very impressed with Deano ability to improve players performances.Looking at El Ghazi,Tzanebe even Taylor they are playing better than ever.

Many people have talked about new players and they can time to settle ,time we don't have.Better to improve the players we do have.

Nyland at fault for last goal but others  due to bad defending or lack of defensive cover.

Midfield balance is wrong more defensive minded players eg whelan jed needed

I think the time for a change had come but the team that finished last season was one of best teams we have had for quite a while.

I think this cabbage references are in poor taste.If we are supposed to be a big club with an illustrious history then is wrong.If we hope to attract managers in good jobs eg Dean Smith ,Rodgers then I don't think this sort of thing does not do us any favours.

Bruce may have many faults but he retained his dignity something we should try to emulate.

Some people on here have talked about it being Bruce's fault we have limited central defensive options.I am not sure what input he had in our summer signings.I think the owners have set a policy of only signing young players .We missed out on 2 young central defenders and didn't have an alternative.

The team that finished last season was one of the best Villa teams of recent times.Snodgrass , Terry and Jounstone were all Bruce signings.The combination of Snodgrass and Elmaaddy on one wing and Adomah and Hutton on the other gave protection in defence and a strong attacking threat.I don't see that happening this year.

Draw probably fair we had some players who were playing their first game I think we need to show patience .

Nobody  gets promoted after 6 games. Where were Fulham this time last year?I think at Christmas they were 9th.

We have 6 new first team players they are going to take time to gel.I think we will improve as the season progresses we just need to not let the gap between the top two get too big.I think Middlesborough look to be the strongest team but they are no Wolves.I see Leeds imploding like last season .

I thought we played well and really should have won easily but were glad to get a point in the end.Bruce deserves credit Axel looked good especially in first half..Kodja looks to have regained his skills with the addition of some loan signings things look promising.We definitely need CB and LB

Some of the players we no longer have like  Snodgrass and Terry gave us a mental toughness which I think we are going miss.Last season we rarely conceded goals in the last 10 mins something which we seemed to do regularly in the previous seasons.

That strength of character the team seemed to have last season is going to be difficult to find again and this is going to make promotion less likely.

Can you imagine the reception we are going to get when we play away at Millwall, Brentford etc 

We are going to be playing against teams desperate to put one over a weathly club .The only thing Henry will bring is a lot of media coverage - and maybe this is the intention.

I think we could making more of that quarry we own.

It could be used to get McCormack and Richards back to full fitness .

Apparently our owners combined wealth is third highest in the country.

Does that include the 1-2 billion that Xia is worth.

People have suggested that we were days away from administration at various times why was no player sold?

Maybe the financial situation was not as bad as reported or Xia didn't want to let players go cheaply

We will never know. I am sure Levy thought by taking more time might make us more desperate and accept a lower fee and with this takeover the exact opposite is going to happen.Levy is under some pressure now having made no signings and 9 of their players still on holiday after World Cup.

I hope if he does go we get a proper transfer fee for him.When our financial problems surfaced I am sure Levy was intending to take advantage of us and it is to Xias credit that he delayed the deal.The ideal situation would be to sell him but to stay here for 1 more season thereby helping us with FFP

I am praying that Henry is going to be announced as new manager of Lyon or some other French or Spanish team.This wrong on so many levels.He would be perfect to take over at an established club that needed more exciting football.Maybe us after Alladyce has got us promoted.

The talk of Henry becoming our manager scares me.It would suggest our new owners do not understand the predicament we are in.We were a shambles of a club 2 years ago when we were relegated .Bruce has reconstructed the whole team and narrowly missed out on promotion.We have FFP to deal with and look like we are going to lose our best player.Is Henry who was an exceptional player the answer.?He has no managerial experience,he has no Championship experience .Has he ever coached or played with the type of players we have in the championship?

Do great players get you out of the championship without any managerial experience?

This has been fantastic news.This has come after probably the worst 2 months I have ever known as a Villa fan.Even worse than the time we didn't score a goal for 2 months under Lambert.

Their wealth means we don't have to worry about an owner asset stripping.

They say they are football fans -why the hell would you buy Villa in its present state if you loved football?

I hope they realise the job of getting back into the Premier League is difficult especially with FFP.I think this was the great mistake Xia made he thought a European cup winning club would easily return to the top flight.
