Just a note to say well done for being the first Villa player to play every minute of the season since......(drum roll)......Jlloyd Samuel in 2003/04.
Nice one Janes! Hopefully your next league game for Villa is in the premier league.
On a similar note, out-field players who have started every league game since 92:
2017-18 - Chester
2010-11 - Downing
2008-09 - Barry
2007-08 - Bouma
2007-08 - Laursen
2006-07 - Mellberg
2003-04 - Samuel
2002-03 - Mellberg
2000-01 - Merson
1998-99 - Southgate
1998-99 - Wright
1996-97 - Ehiogu
1996-97 - Wright
1995-96 - Wright
1992-93 - Barrett
1992-93 - McGrath
1992-93 - Richardson
1992-93 - Staunton

Well done to the lads, hope they can parade to cup at the Boro play game.
Bad news for the U23 play off game, scheduled for this Saturday. Those who are going to Boro will have to scratch that one.

The semi-final will be played "some time between April 27th & 30th". Given that our PL cup semi against Leicester is the 27th, I would hazard a guess that the league playoff semi will be the 30th, but that's only speculation at this point.
OS twitter update - Tuesday 1st May at VP against Reading.

I watched it on YouTube, we didn't play well at all but we did have a very young side out
No O'Hare, Davis. Clark on the bench. I assume we're giving them a breather before Friday's cup semi.

Anybody watch the game on youtube, where we unlucky to lose?

I assume the shirts would be on sale in the Luke's shop in the Bull Ring, meaning we'll have a place to buy them in the city centre but without the having a shop overhead on our books.
Not quite a replacement club shop, but some kind of physical representation in town would be good.

Lost 2-0 to Newcastle on Friday, so play-offs it is.................sounds familiar!

Thanks. I see they're using the King Power Stadium too, instead of Holmes Park their usual U23 venue.
Good. It should add to the occasion, give the lads some experience......might also work against us.
Also, how come we entered this year. Its the first time we've played in this cup since 2013-14 (lost to Fulham)?

A friend of mine saw Stas play for the first team - a pre season friendly at Redditch Utd if I remember correctly
Thats right (sticks scored a couple (one was a pen) in a 3-0 win at Redditch).
Stas also missed a pen in a preseason game in Germany, as well as 'scoring' through the side netting at a preseason game at Witney Town!

Date for semi to be Friday 27/04/18 (7pm ok), according to the OS twitter account.
So that looks like its after the last U23 league game.

Some Villa related ones in my lifetime:
Ivo Stas - signed by Dr Jo after playing in Italy 90 against us in the UEFA Cup (scored an own goal!), never played a first team game for us before retiring around 1992.
Steve Froggett - retired in his late 20's with ankle trouble.
I think we got insurance money for Fash in 95.
Although Tony Daley played until his early 30's (non league with Forest Green), his suffered bad injuries.
Also, Ricky Scimeca retired early 30's at Cardiff.

This really is news to me (I was too old for them, I left school 20 years or so)!
Any chance we could pinch those shin pads off her and pass them onto super Jack.

Unfortunately it's very simple for Blackburn now. Win your last game on Monday away to hapless West Brom and you're up. Good to see we have Suliman back, and Lyden fit and back in the goals though. We need to be going up with them.
I was thought we had an outside chance of top spot, until you said Blackburn had West Brom! Just hope they pinch a draw and we do the business in the final 2 games.

Significant modifications to OP.
We now also have a player appearance table for the Premier League Cup. I opted against having one overall appearance table because it would have been too wide.
Tables now only include players who have been in a matchday squad (whether they were used or not).
Moved league table to top of page.
Unfortunately due to the awful maintenance of the OS, some of the PL Cup appearance stats are incomplete. I've managed to find 6 of the 7 line-ups. I'm missing the away trip to Sheffield United and the only reason I know Odutayo played in 2 of the games is because he scored in them. If anyone has substitute information for any of the games then it would be appreciated.
The away Sheff Utd U23 PL Cup can be found here:

The team was:
Watkins, McConachie, Williams, Ige, Revan, Birch, Odutayo, Tait-Moran, Mooney, Brunt, Ramesy
Subs: Abdo, Idem, Sea, Bridge, Vassilev
Before anyone notices, yes the day stated is wrong 14/03/18 was Wednesday not Thursday.

Hello there!
Long time lurker, first time poster.
Started going up during 89/90 season and have been a ST holder on and off since (currently ST in Trinity Middle).
Enjoy browsing OT as well as BOF's stiffs thread.
Speaking of which, the main reason for posting was I have see the teamsheet for Sheff Utd U23 PL Cup that he wants to add to the thread.

Not quite at the races Saturday. Play was evenish first half with Brighton having the better chances, we faded second half. Brighton deserved the win.
RHM unlucky, Doyle-Hayes neat-and-tidy, Green looked the most polish of our players (just his crossing was hit-and-miss).
Blackett-Taylor is a strange one. Could well be a good player once he grows into his legs.
Mitch Clark had nothing left to give in the last 10 minutes, very noticeable right footed at left back.
Also, well done to the Brighton fans, they had a couple of coaches up from the coast.
Amazed that mostly everyone left with ten minutes to go, admittedly the game was gone, but beating the traffic with only 1000 or so in attendance is laughable.
Leaving early must be the norm now for any game.
