Oh well. I wish I could say it was nice to have been back in the big league for a spell, but it really wasn't.

Watford score goals and we don’t.
By the sounds of it, they also seem to miss a hatful. They should be out of sight in this game, and *could* still lose.

I wonder if any of the Norwich players will come out after the match and say: "Now that relegation is confirmed we can relax and give something back to the fans...." or whatever poorly considered, loathsome thing it was that JL said those few years back.

The one factor that consistently lets us down in this furious calculation of permutations, is Aston Villa.

It's the hope that kills you.

"Must win" has been thrown around........ well, forever, but Sunday is now very much the definition of the term. Lose, and although mathematically yes we could still do it I think the players' confidence and even desire for the fight will be shot to pieces. Can't help but think a draw will just needlessly extend the pain for everyone connected to the club.
A win will at least keep things interesting for the final round of games.

Thank goodness I was out and completely missed this. Did we at least manage a shot on target?

Not sure I'll ever forgive the Villa if they don't relegate a team as woeful as this West Ham. Absolutely positive they won't beat Norwich next.

Watford have probably got another win in them. If they get to 34 chances are Villa need to get to 35 with goal difference. Lose to Man U and that’s eight from four games needed. Hard.
No doubt. But it's still in our own hands.

Ah the old game in hand chestnut.
Amazing how sarcasm came to replace: 'Oh sorry, yes, I see that I was wrong'.

Ours. Confirmed. Whether we'll take the opportunity is entirely different.

I’m guessing you’re factoring in the West Ham v Watford game?
+ we play West Ham final game. So, still in our hands.

In what way shape or form is us staying in the league still in our hands ?
....the remaining fixtures. "In what way shape or form is us staying up" not in our hands?

Still in our hands. It's desperate and looks bleak, but remarkably, there is still hope.

Using a 'rumour' as a stick to beat Smith with when he's right and you're wrong. I think this is a new low.
Plus, can't help but wonder how much time passed between hearing this 'rumour', and posting something as '100% not the case' on social media... Surely enough time to do the smallest amount of research.

Heard a rumour smith commented that watford were expected to.win against Norwich and then commented something along the lines of " Its still in our hands" surely he hasnt said that when its 100% not the case we would need results to.go our way and win games.
You "heard a rumour" that something is true. He's right. It is still in our hands. West Ham still have to play Watford. You think both could pick up 3 points in this fixture?

Bringing it back to us for a second, the one constant of Dean Smith's reign at VP is that just when we look as utterly dreadful as anything we've seen in the last number of years (I've forgotten how many), we suddenly go on a run or do something extraordinary to somehow get us over the line, like winning a record breaking 10 on the trot, or winning the biggest game of the season at Wembley at his first attempt.
Bournemouth are finished. This is still very much in our hands.

We've been brilliant, and not worked the keeper at all.

We're looking good IMO. It's coming.
Going one nil behind?

Looks like the only way we're going to score here is by a Grealish worldy.

Free header. 6 yards out. Typical Villa.

Every now and again you need to make good on all the favours handed out...

Go cycling. Along a canal. Listen to the match in your phone. Throw phone into canal at unspecified but inevitable point during match. Ride angry for two minutes. Ride sad and disappointed at what the team’s bad performance means for three minutes. Continue ride in blissful ignorance of the dross.
It is along a canal! Can't afford the minutes to listen to the match. You look at how badly the teams just above us are struggling, and you think, are we really worse than West Ham or Bournemouth!?
HUGE questions need to be asked if come the end of the season it's a yes. -
I'm in 2 minds about going out cycling or staying to follow the Villa. I'm so sick of being disappointed with this team.

Yep, along with our now established losing mentality, the players will see the task is insurmountable.
That's that then. Actually feel quite emotional, rather than the numbness I expected.
