This appointment has set us back years, nothing has been right since he come, players wanting to leave, another bomb squad to train with the youth, us buying up coming players, now that’s changed to 29+ on overinflated wages that have literally bugger all sell on value

i just want him gone now

Also add the fact that youth was never going to get a look in, and Villa park and the Villa academy are no longer a destination for providing youth a way through to the first team. Instead, we just add over priced, over age mediocrity.

This is all going down hill very fast.

Lets face it. 32 league games in and i cannot remember many outstanding performances or wins

The 4 nil against Southampton was their worst game of the season and we should have won by more .  Maybe the 3 nil against a Leeds team and crowd totally demorolised. Or the 3 1 against Burnley.

But other than that very very little .

Just occasionally plucky halves of play where we were good but not good enough and ended up losing. Not whole games of good play. Just halves.

Even Graham Taylor back in 2003 gave us some good performances.

Scary when the best three wins are Leeds, Southampton and Burnley.

I would have preferred Liverpool, Man U and Chelsea as per the other guy.

  3. Worrying.

Aston Villa have lost eight of their last eleven Premier League games against Arsenal (W3), including both meetings against them last season. Those three wins all came consecutively between July 2020 and February 2021 under Dean Smith.

I increasingly feel like we let Smith down tbh. He deserved a little longer. Gerrard has done absolutely nothing to warrant the same extension.

I think you're right. Although we were having a bad run at the time, I firmly believe that he would have pulled through it and at least equaled Gerrard's 13th place.

Purslow saw an opportunity, to what he believed was an upgrade, and it's coming back to bite him in the ass.

Gerrard. I'm uncomfortable with replacing a manager after less than 3 months. I like the players he has brought in, i think some of the players he inherited are not as good as we think they are. We had nobody in the final 1/3rd anywhere near the quality of Zaha or Eze.

3 Months - He's been here since November, has had two transfer periods and a pre-season. We have gone backwards not forward. Initially, we just looked poor against the better teams under Gerrard. No we look really poor against almost everyone.
