I get not liking the badge, but in the theme of hyperbole with all things people on the board don't like, some are scraping the absolute bottom of the barrel for reasons why it's shit and why the half a billion pound corporation operates on " Amateur Hour " 😂

Edit: All I'm saying is that even if it's shit... It's guaranteed that we paid professionals handsomely to make it the highest quality shit possible.

    Polished a turd?

....or whether, it fits with the attributes we need as a team, to enhance our strength.

It all very well, signing good players.....but we have good players already....The big question is, do they improve the weaknesses in the team?

I think we have clear weaknesses, and clear strengths......The improvements need to be centred around the area's that improve the team as a whole.

You've done everything you can here, but this group of logos proves to me that we need to abandon this style of badge.

No combination of our colours works right when you have a lion on a single colour shield. There's either not enough blue or the contrast is off.

I'm not a huge fan of the 2023/24 badge, I think it's very bland and characterless, but it did get the colour balance pretty close.

Compare them all to say, this one, which was shared around around the time the 23/24 badge was unveiled.

The right amount of claret and blue and the contrast makes the lion really stand out. If I was designing the logo, i'm not sure if i'd do a round badge but this is the sort of colour balance that is needed to make the colours work.

    Yes but gold, not yellow.

Man U one is ok I think, yeah the other two are shite.

I keep saying that my main bother on ours at this points is the white 1874 and star.

As aatter of tact, even just removinf the start would help.

    Ours defonstands out though.

    YELLOW ON BLUE!!!

I dont think well buy any "big money" players

I think well buy sensible squad players to boost the overall ability to last out a 60 game season in all competitions and be competitive.......

So I think well buy the £15-23M kind of range player, proven experience and will be able to "hit the ground" running without that settling in period............

Thats why I think well see people like Barkley, Gallagher, Zaha, Smith-Rowe, Ndidi, WanBissaka etc...........

No evidence to this, just my thoughts

Juve are still in a bit of a mess financially (still owe Ronaldo €10-20m) and have been scrambling to rebalance the squad from some of the expensive older players to younger and more Italian players. They also don't have a squad that suits Motta from where they have depth so can absolutely see someone like a Chiesa being sold (as would bring in decent funds). Whilst i like him, I'm not sure he would suit the PL  -  sorry @Jas10!

I think the most important thing is to judge, where we need enhancing, with the limited resource we have.....is a Chiesa, the type of player, we are short of, as good as he might be.

We have to look at the team holistically, and examine, where the attributes lie, in the team, that we are short or weak on.

It's no good fitting a new front door, if the chimney stack needs repairing( unless you have unlimited funds)....its all about priorities and we have some obvious indicators of where our strengthening needs to be.

Yeah, I’ve already outlined the priorities for me. DM, fullbacks… add some defensive prowess, strength, aerial prowess.

Also, better and more reliable CB cover than the likes of Carlos (a few standout performances but not enough, no consistency and I fear his body is letting him down) and Lenglet. Wait and see on Mings…

Fofana or Onana would seem like a suitable addition for DM… will win tackles and headers but can play and move aswell.

    Chiesa is just a running joke/fantasy but… a man can dream…

Yeah he's right at the top of midfield targets for me. Only 1 year left on his contract so available for a cut price too.

These kind of players/deals should be our prime targets really… and what I would expect Monchi to target/pursue.

If we can get quality players in (well) below their actual value, that’s huge…

and if we ever had to sell in the future, we could make huge profit.

I understand but we still need to improve mate, look at our last 10 games we’ve been far from good enough so we will need to improve the team in areas, im not saying superstars necessarily but players of a certain ilk, i think people are under the impression i want us to go out and sign the hyped players no that is not the case. Despite beating City and Arsenal we still need to bring in some quality, sentiment has no room in football unfortunately and im not saying being horrible and ship everyone off but changes will need to be made.

I don’t disagree but at the same time, it’s worth appreciating what we have and some of them don’t have to be replaced in the side… we have some top players of our own.

The main thing is, we need a bigger and better squad. We struggled this year tbf, injuries, missing players, lack of options, mental & physical fatigue all caught up with us but we fortunately did enough last year to get us to where we wanted to be… also managed to muster the odd performance while we were struggling and the win against Arsenal was huge.

We have the best GK in the world, one of the best midfield partnerships in the league is Luiz & Kamara and Tielemans and McGinn (our heartbeat, our power source) are no slouches. Excellent CBs in Konsa and Pau (probably the best ball playing CB out there). One of the best, most reliable and most rounded CFs in Europe/PL in Watkins - Unai has improved all of these players to a huge degree.

JJ and Rogers (gave us the lift we needed at the right time) are exciting youngsters with huge potential and excellent ball carriers…

We do need additions, I won’t argue with that. But, a fully fit squad will help a lot and we all know we can’t spend lavishly…

I want a DM and the fullback positions looked at. Think that’s most important, we have to stop conceding so many cheap goals… have to be harder to beat and score against. We create a lot of chances… it’s more about preventing them at the other end imo. That’s more of a priority for me rn. But I’m not averse to attacking reinforcements either… whatever Unai wants basically.

Yeah,  it does often sound like you want big names and maybe that’s not what you mean… but adding a few low cost, useful/quality players will help us with the squad/options and allow us to spend on one or two top players…  we can’t afford multiple deal with big transfer fees and wages though…

Ultimately, we should trust in Unai (especially, just look at what’s he’s achieved so far and he won’t want any crap players) and give Monchi a chance… don’t get caught up in the speculation too much, most of it isn’t based in reality or has any actual truth to it.

We could be up against real madrid in a few months, is barkley and gallagher names you feel will be able to go against a side of that magnitude 🤔 and thats the way i will always look at it

Forget those two, for now anyway, but our players have already beaten sides like City and Arsenal. Don’t forget that we finished 4th in the PL and with injuries and suspensions - imagine what we would have achieved with a fully fit squad.

Young players are kind of “in vogue” now too and there is a lot that can be done with potential… the likes of Rogers and Ramsey can be “good enough” against big teams. Especially if the team is well set up and performing around them… we’re not actually that short on quality but we are on depth.

This isn’t FM, we can’t go out and splash the cash or just go after names. That doesn’t always work either… look at teams like Man Utd and Chelsea who have overpaid for overhyped players that have turned out to be crap. And shown themselves as disruptive, egomaniacs too…

We can’t upset the balance and harmony of the squad… got to make the right additions and not based off of name, rep, wage packet etc.

We have to be savvy, wise, intelligent… a few free transfers or low cost deals for players on expiring contracts would be wise, so long as they are if the required quality/standard.

Unai and Monchi are known for finding “rough diamonds” and/or polishing them too…

Joao Felix & Ferran torres are options worth looking at being as barca need the cash.

Dont think we’ll upset our wage structure or not too drastically… if we can keep top/important players at 100-150k I think we’ll try n do it. Just guessing, but I don’t think we’ll stretch beyond 200k for a “star player”…

just doesn’t make sense and isn’t all that sustainable, we can’t unsettle existing players too… we don’t necessarily need big names but players that can help us out and invest or “buy in” to our overall ethic and structure. No egos or prima donnas please…

I can't believe people are actually still debating mckennie.

Do people forget he has actually played in the PL?, and was terrible?

So bad not a single PL club signed him after his PL loan ended.

We’re going to see a lot of BS coming out of Italian, Spanish, probably Turkish media all window… British too!

the most laughable is that Dougie’s valued at 40m 😂 even 70…

Best to take it all with a pinch of salt but we can still enjoy and get excited about speculation on targets, no matter how unrealistic they may be 😆

    CL helps though…
