I remember he failed his medical. Turns out our medical team back then were brilliant, as I think he may have retired at the age of 25. Clearly had talent as he signed for Lyon, shame.

We need him to commit because he’s a big talent. 

If he does commit to the club then he will come right into contention because of what he has done with the U23s.

He’s been here since he was eight years old and I’m sure this is the right place for him.

He is a Villa fan, as are his family so we hope to get it over the line.

 

I had a quick scroll on his twitter and couldn't find anything Liverpool related on a search. However he definitely did have some pro Liverpool tweets, and i remember a villa fan querying it and he said he supported them. Probably a similar situation to Gabby to be honest. We all know him as a supposed Villa fan now but he was Arsenal as a kid. Not that any of this actually matters but it's nice to know when they are one of us like Grealish. Hopefully Rushian has seen the light.

I'd want £20m plus for the player - I think given his age, his value to us and his potential, he's worth that.

 

 

How long has it taken us to find a decent LB? I'd agree with £20m plus and i don't think we'd find a better LB.

It's incredible how we stayed up for so long. I seem to recall an injury crisis under Houllier and he had to play a Midfield of Albrighton Bannan Hogg and Herd (or something similar). Pretty sure we got a result too.

Anyway, I would have liked Gil to be recalled. We didn't have a shot on target against Norwich until the 90th minute, and I'm often looking at the bench for players who can create chances for the strikers and all I see is Grealish and Adomah.

Newcastle are favourites to sign Delph...albeit 4/1.

Would love us to try and get Berahino.

He's tweeted quite openly in the past that he supports Liverpool.

If we managed to get McCarthy in Jan then it would be an unbelievable coup at this level. I just don't see it though. Maybe in the summer if we manage to get promoted and even then it would be a class signing.

Think fitness has been this guys issue.

Shame he's off. Would have probably got a chance when the others go to ACON. 

Whether some fans like it or not, defenders are terrified of players with his pace which will always make him a good option.

I think he must regret the move, even though we've been relegated. Captain of the club, loved by the fans for being 'loyal', regular starter for England. Now he's injury prone, can't get a look in at City, and noway near making the England squad. 100% he'd of been on the plane to France had he stayed at Villa. 

Even if we don't have a recall option, it would make sense for Deportivo and Villa to cancel the loan.
