4 games to go in the premier league season. European football for next season already confirmed. Europa league at a minimum and Champions league qualification in our own hands. A European cup semi-final to come. I was optimistic coming into this season, but this is beyond belief.
Regardless of what happens in the next 5 weeks, What a time to be a Villa fan. I’m beyond proud of this team.

Not feeling very confident at all about this one. Chelsea seem to do quite well when they're on TV from memory. Would take a point all day.
They haven’t done too well on TV tonight! I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing for us ahead of Saturday night though - surely they can’t be this bad again? There will have to be pressure on them to perform. On the upside, Arsenal will be buzzing with confidence ahead of the spurs tie.

What a man. His saves are world class, and the confidence having him there must give the team is probably like nothing a Villa defence has had in years. And then you see him give an interview to sky standing beside Watkins and it turns out his hype man skills are world class as well! Fair play EMI, you are one in a billion.

Rogers has been brilliant but looks wrecked now.

They are a good team and we will do well if they don’t score. Rogers has been excellent and I think zaniolo is doing well too. A lot of work being done by every man out there. As usual emi pulls a world class reaction save out of the bag.

Take 50 million from the transfer kitty and immediately invest it in cloning Martinez - the man is an absolute legend

Jesus Villa, what is it with the start of the second half ???

It was an awful game to watch.
Worst refereeing I’ve seen in a loooooong time.
But, bright side - clean sheet away in Ajax in a European cup while playing poorly - really shows how far we’ve come.

After tonight we should immediately raise his wages and raise the insurance policy on his rear end - that thing is a national treasure. He was magnificent - he was everywhere and must have been a complete nightmare to play against - what a performance, what a leader - we are so bloody lucky to have him wear the Villa shirt.

Wow. Just wow. Never mind the win, never mind the three points, Villa just absolutely dominated them - the only thing wrong with that game is that we ‘only’ won by 1.

Everyone has played really well. Bailey has been on it, savage saves by Emi but Holy hell McGinn is a colossus. . .

I'm Irish and living in Dublin. I was 7 when Euro 88 was on and Ireland beating England was probably my first real football memory. Even though we didn't get far in the competition, i just absolutely adored God. He moved to Villa not long afterwards and from that day on, i inhaled any and all information about the club. Nowadays, i get over to two or three games a year, lurk around villatalk and watch as much villa as my TV subscriptions, my proximity to continuously flowing narrow bodies of water and my better half allow.

It’s terrible news for the guy. I really feel for him. I’m sure after a good preseason he was looking forward to the season and to have it snatched away must be awful (and it’s probably awful for someone else if one of the other players was involved in it happening). He’s a huge loss, the pressing, the commitment and as others have said he has added a few goals as well. Just feel terrible for him - hopefully he will come back stronger.

I’d be pretty upset if it was given against us, but I’ll take it.

Moura and a new manager sounds good.
Watching this, I’d take Moura as the new manager . . .

Zaha vs Mings will be interesting again. Hopefully the red card goes to Palace this time.
This is a big worry for me. Zaha consistently seems to be able to get under Mings’ skin, and pair that with Kansa not showing great form means our defence could be particularly vulnerable today. Hope that Bouba can help keep the pressure off.

We’ve bought some good players in January (and some complete lemons), but rarely have we bought a player for such a bargain price and have them make such a huge impact. This Unai fella seems like he might know a thing or two.
