  1. Yeah he played really good, contributing to us keeping the ball. Very good that he got this game to get used to the feisty and physical PL, in the previous games he has lost the ball and lost challenges too easily for being such a big guy. Forwards and upwards!

  2. He changed the game for us, not just the sublime assist, but being a constant threat on the right. Such a difference compared to Cash who didn't pose any threat at all. On top of that Bailey's general game was really good. Ver relieved that Ben Mee didn't break his leg with that awful tackle.

The last games he has really been amazing, in the performance against City it was like everything just clicked for him and he has kept up the high standards since then. So satisfying to see this development.

  3. That was feisty! So thrilled about the three points, best moment beside our goals was Ben Mee getting a straight red, I think there is an argument for banning a player for a longer time with that behaviour. Just luck that he didn't end Bailey's career. Except Wesly, hasn't he done similar to other players as well?

  4. I dont see the point with playing Cash at RW, I dont think he has any good games for us there except against weak teams in the EL.

I would take off Cash and Ramsey and put on Zaniolo and Bailey. Alternatively put big Donk at CM and move McGinn forward instead of Ramsey and put on Bailey for Cash.

  5. I as well think a top class RB is the highest priority, then I would like a CM instead of big Donk, I would also like a target player up front so we can change tactics at time, but that could wait to the summer.

Oh and a new no 2 would be welcome as well of course.

  6. A bit surprised we started him as RM against a team like Spurs. Perhaps it was because Spurs play this wierd but efficient tactics with their fullbacks playing as attacking midfielders when they have possession, perhaps the idea was to have Cash as cover for Konsa. But it hampered our attacking play too much. It made such a difference in the second when Tielemans helped us regain control and Bailey driving on out wide.

We are well stacked in the inverted winger role with McGinn, Ramsey, Tielemans, Zaniolo and Buendia. What we really need is a top class RB.

  7. Very impressed by him today, a good sign that he performed so well against top quality opposition. Contributed to us turning the game. He plays with more calmness and is more measured than before, some really good passing and footwork and looked like threat. Him and Tielemans coming on in the second half was a very good move by Emery (though I didn't understand why he played Cash from the start), with Tielemans we regained more control in the middle with his passing and possessions play and with Baily we became a threat up on the right hand side, we looked more balanced and created more.

I love the way he sprints. What a UNIT.

    He was excellent today.

Haha I was thinking the same, there was one moment in the second half when Son was on a free run on our right hand side and he ran like a maniac with his arms like a skier, I didn't know he was that fast! He is certainly over his injury now which is really positive.

A real unit and such a good defender. I'm a bit surprised that the build up often goes through Torres instead of him, Carlos has very good passing, not at least the long range passing. Want to see him ping those cross field passes from standing still more!

  9. I thought he was exceptional today, voted Martinez motm but could as well have been Kamara. He outshone Luiz for me, contributed a lot in defence and covered alot of ground, some sweet footwork and passing as well.

  10. I thought he should have started, could have tweaked in different ways to play him instead of Cash. He brought stability, calm and possession to the team and contributed very much to the win.

Assumed he was injured, but that's an odd thing to do.

Emery wasn't asked about his absence from what I saw, so Thursday will be interesting.

I don't fully get it, what's the story here?

So did I. The guys just oozes class and it doesn’t matter if it’s quick nippy forwards or big hulking muscle Mary’s like today he just defends with ease.

And also so many times that he comes to the rescue for others.

In the build up play almost all our players misplaces passes now and then, Konsa hardly ever does. He just has everything.

Can anyone confirm that he was looking up for the goal? 🤔

'Bang Average Bailey' strikes again 🤣

One almost gets the impression that the two of you are more happy about taunting fellow Villa fans than that he actually scored an absolutely brilliant goal for us.
