I'm not saying Joey Barton isn't "good" (for some definition of good).

I was making the point that Joey Barton played for City, Newcastle & QPR and has 1 England cap and Schweinsteiger played for Bayern & Man Utd and captained a World Cup winning German team. If Barton at the age of 35 can rip up the Championship, then what a 32 year old BS could do doesn't bear thinking.

Anyway, its tabloid rubbish so a moot point.

gotta say, seeing a 32 year old Bull Shit in the championship would be worth paying money to see

I remember he was wanting to emulate Lampard as a box to box midfielder...  he's a funny lad. But could be useful in rotation in midfield throughout the season and as RB cover.

makes our bench for Saturday look stronger!

    Tony xia tweeted we weren't

yeah I saw someone post the tweet but correct me if im wrong and I could very well be but I would be surprised if Dr T was across every single player or agent our scouts/coaches have contacted.  All it would take is a casual call to the agent to see how Ravel was travelling which could have prompted him to act the way he has on twitter etc...    either that or he's bonkers

Does anyone else feel that had we bought in the likes of De Laet, Chester, Elphick, Jedinak, McCormack and Hernandez at the start of last season we would have stayed up?

not if Sherwood was still in the hot seat... from the limited games and structure ive seen RDM impose, no doubt we'd still be in the premier league today if he was manager

  6. if I can add my two cents,   as I live abroad, its just about impossible to find any merchandise for both adults / kids over here so we rely heavily on either the official website or fakes.   Unfortunately the range on the website is limited, would love to see the store improve its offerings!

Leicester fan here. Decent signing for the championship, it's a level where his issues won't be as obvious as they were in the premier league.

His positioning isn't the best, he has a tendency to rush in to a challenge and get bypassed... but he's rapid and gets himself out of loads of problems with his pace. And he loves bombing forward, might not create a huge amount, as the final ball isn't really there. But his link up play is ok and he'll gain you loads of ground and get you into dangerous position.

He served us just fine in a team that mullered the league. So I don't see any issues with the signing at all, he'd be one you'd look to shit to backup upon promotion though.

I think RDM would love to get promoted just to shit him...

Not even trying are they. They either think he is bullshiting, they believe their own sources more or most likely they don't even follow him.

Just when I thought Greg Evans couldn't be topped for piss poor journalism.

or maybe his agent is using us as leverage to get a better deal at Newcastle??

In theory we can match the wages of almost any side in serie A, even in this division. I would definitely be up for us trying to tempt some young and up and coming players here. Look at Romagnoli going to Milan, he had only just broke through with Roma but you could see he was class, a move like that would be doable for us if we were scouting U-21 and U-19 sides here.

    Gollini?

Totally agree. We need somebody there to feed these guys, and at the moment, its not happening. Also, I hope we do get Hernandez, even though he falls short of the definition of world class to some. Twice I noticed that we tried to counter attack quickly against Derby, only to be over run by their defenders by the time they got to the halfway line. If Hernandez has pace, then he will be great.

yes but one of those times was worth the comedy factor... thanks Libor
