  1. Nice one fan of Ajax, really like the sounds of the Narsingh guy. I worry that McLeish would not sign Narsingh because he is not "experienced" enough. That is flavour of the month for the manager.

If you ask me, experience is important for defenders, a must have for goalkeepers. Midfielders less important and attackers not so much at all. Perhaps scoring goals in bigger leagues you need to learn. If you are good enough, you are old enough! And besides that, if you wait to long with talented players, their prices go skyrocketing.

    Are you Artur Numan?

    Haha no..

Well you're at least Budget Numan. :thumb:

Oh I wouldnt mind being a scout at all! Where can I sign this contract :D

Also linked with Kenneth Vermeer, Ajax goalkeeper. I don't rate him to high. He saves alot, but also alot of mistakes! Think he will be second keeper of Ajax next season though

am sure he played in the UEFA Cup game in 2008, wasnt that impressive on crosses

He hasnt changed much, quite disappointing, thought he would be our next goalkeeper. So far, not good enough.

  2. Awesome analysis cheers. He sounds good, your reason's not to buy him are far outweighed by reasons to buy him. We could do with those wingers you mentioned too, hope we are looking at them! How much do you think they are worth and do you recon they'd come to Villa?

Dost is, as most other strikers of Heerenveen, a hit or miss player. There is not much in between unlike Holman who is the exact opposite, he will be average at worst or decent at best.

Aissadi is very small and not strong at all. Sounds like a non Premier League player. Thats why I think he will join a top team in France, perhaps Russia/Portugal/Holland. Or midtable club in Spain orso. He might be blown away in England, also dont think Assaidi is interested. But you can always try of course ;) but if Ruiz fails in England, Aissadi will get a very hard time hmmm..

Narsingh will succeed I think, he has more body. He wants to make a step forward for sure. The best Dutch clubs already interested, no idea if Aston Villa can sign him, if you can make him believe Aston Villa is THE best team to climb up the ladder you will have a chance for sure. He will be joining a bigger club very soon and also be a Dutch international too. So you need to be fast before he will cost you alot more/harder to sign etc.

All 3 I expect them around 5 million euro. Narsingh and Aissadi have both only 1 year contract.

And Dost indeed said he didnt know to much about Aston Villa, not that he thinks Aston Villa is a bad team. Thats quite bad translated haha.

    Are you Artur Numan?

    Haha no..

  3. Aston Villa going Dutch hmmm!? :D Also linked with Kenneth Vermeer, Ajax goalkeeper. I don't rate him to high. He saves alot, but also alot of mistakes! Think he will be second keeper of Ajax next season though

Since I had some positive comments about Holman post, here is one about Dost :D (and Heerenveen…)

    Do buy:

-Scores easily his goals, a real striker

-Heerenveen knows how to make players big

-Young, talented, fair price (5 million euro I guess)

    -Very good header

-Strikes hard, even at short distance of the goal he strikes the ball like he is miles away from the goal

-Scoring a goal is more important than saving his life. He always storms up to goal

-If he trusts his head coach he will give his best

-Heerenveen is 6th, still only 5 points behind AZ who still leads. Same amount of points as PSV (4th) and Feyenoord (5th). By far not the worst team in the Dutch league

-Ajax almost bought him. Heerenveen wanted 5.5 million, Ajax bid was around 4.5. Dost went to court, and lost. Heerenveen eventually agreed but it was to late. Transferdeadline was about 20 minutes away.

    -Never had an injury

    Dont buy:

-If he misses a huge oppurtunity he intend to swear alot. That much he will be tilting (is this a proper English word? like a poker player gets confused suddenly and seems to lose it after a bad beat)

-In combination with point 1, he is very wild. Why use technique when you kick the ball as hard as you can? I know some reasons, Dost doesn't

-Scoring goals at Heerenveen is easy. Heerenveen has perhaps the most offensive playstyle in the entire world

-The best players from Heerenveen are Narsingh (winger), Aissadi (other winger) and Gouweleeuw (defender). Scoring goals is even more easy when your wingers are Narsingh and Aissadi, the best wingers in the Dutch league

-Dost had once a fight with his coach and he was all over the place during the games. Became even more wild

-Ajax bought Sigthorsson (AZ) instead of Dost and I preferred him, even he had alot of injuries

-Would Holman and Dost be a good combination? This isnt a 100% dont as I dont know the answer. But a working class hero combined with a real goalgetter hmmm. Who gives the assist then?

Heerenveen is a funny team, its like a concept team, not interested in winning, its all about attack attack attack. Their goalkeepers always have been worthless, and most of their defenders as well. Some of the bigger names you might know:

Allback (Aston Villa! Fail though?), Alves (Middlesbrough, failed), Huntelaar (Ajax, Real Madrid, AC Milan, Schalke 04, succeded), Van Nistelrooij (PSV, Manchester United, Real Madrid, massive), Samaras (Celtic, failed), Sulejmani (Ajax, mwah), Tomasson (AC Milan, succeded)

All strikers /goalgetters, all recent! Except Sulejmani all hit or miss. Bradley played at Heerenveen too btw. Aissadi will leave to Lille/PSG/team like that. Narsingh will stay or leave to Ajax are both my guesses. Gouweleeuw is to young to leave.

I think Dost is best to compare with Huntelaar. More wild and therefor a poor mans version of Huntelaar? I would pick The Hunter, cold as ice, strikes whenever he can. Dost is same type of striker I think, not useful with passing and such. But he isnt cold as ice lol, he is furious, steaming and because of those sometimes even abit clumsy. Me kick ball hard., me happy after scoring another goal, me angry when miss. Something like that.

  4. cheers to ajax fan for that assessment

Still.. I think he might make it at Aston Villa, he plays indeed a bit like Dirk Kuyt

will take that quite happily. Honestly, a solid player who'll graft and do the simple things right on a free is fine by me.

Have to say Kuyt scores more goals. Kuyt also played at bigger teams. Holman is a tiny bit more midfielder and Kuyt bit more striker/attacker.

I love, love, love this profile. Excellent work, many thanks. :thumb:

Thanks! To bad Bradley didnt make it, would have thought he was decent enough. Rate him higher than Holman, Holman works much much harder, perhaps that will make the difference.

Anyway if you want to see more than just Youtube videos of Holman. Tonight AZ plays at Udine. Poulsen will play as well, read he might be an Aston Villa target. Though competition will be harder to sign him and he is hard to scout! He is between winger and back, it works well with Holman. Holman does all the work when Poulsen steaming up once again. Defensive wise Poulsen is rubbish.

Other nice/important AZ games you can 'scout/see' Holman yourself: Pick out your favorite :P

Tonight 19:00 (Dutch GMT!) Udinese - AZ (AZ defending 2-0 lead)

22-03 AZ - Heracles (11th in the league) This half final of Dutch cup though

01-04 Vitesse (7th, new richest team in the netherlands!) - AZ

    11-04 AZ - Twente (2nd)

    14-04 PSV (4th) - AZ

    29-04 Feyenoord (6th) - AZ

06-05 AZ - Groningen (9th, last game of the season, most likely the decision who will become Dutch champion..)

Other league games like their first one this weekend vs NAC, you might get problems comparing it to Premier League standards. You can score easily 3 goals vs NAC, have a very good game, but still play bad comparing simply because NAC is not a good team at all. (13th)

Other big games, Dutch cup final! And Europa League quater finals. I think AZ will qualify for both rounds.

  5. Personally if he would join Ajax, I would get an headache. He is everything I dont want ;p

Still this is mean and he isnt all bad.

    + Hard working player

+ Very fit! 90 minutes of running, running and more running

    + Very hard working player

+ Plays at AZ, the club who is 1st in the Dutch league. While the Dutch teams reached the biggest amount of European points ever! AZ (Holman played these games too) won easily vs Anderlecht, by far the best team of Belgium and 2-0 vs Udinese.

+ Already became champion with AZ

    + Works extremely hard

+ A real teamplayer! (always a big plus)

+ Nice guy, I dont think you will hate this guy, even if he fails. Not much to hate about the person ánd footballer Brett Holman

+ He is cheap, dont know his salary now but AZ went bankrupted only few years ago, so it cant be much to football standards

+ AZ didnt want him to leave. Holman wanted to leave AZ.

    The buts...

-He wasnt a starting player when AZ became champion of Holland

-27 years old and his experiences is mostly Australian league and Dutch SECOND league. NEC and AZ werent topsides when he was starting player there. Apart from this season then lol

-AZ is on top, but 6t in the league is Feyenoord, only 7 points behind of AZ! Ajax, PSV, Twente and Heerenveen are 3, 3, 3 and 4 points behind. Twente with a game less. Everyone loses versus everyone in the Dutch league at this moment, which makes the league very much fun and unpredictle but also poor at times.

-AZ is on top, the best players are however their midfielders Maher, Martens, Elm, the frontline is seen as their weakest side, AZ doesnt score much goals.

-So Holman doesnt score much goals ;)

-Holman has few skills, his passing game is ok, his speed is ok, his working rate is high. Everything else is below par

-Never stood out at AZ and even not at NEC

-Bigger (richer!) Dutch teams like Ajax, PSV and also Twente werent interested at all.

Still.. I think he might make it at Aston Villa, he plays indeed a bit like Dirk Kuyt. He will work 24/7 to make it happen! He is from Australia so my guess the Premier League is all what he had dreamt of.

On the other side, I remember some conversation at this forum about signings like Van der Vaart, Suarez and such! If I compare Holman to these players uhhhh well lets dont do that :D

Guess it all depends on the expectations of yours (as always), Seem like the expectations are really low. And who the other signings are ofcourse. You dont want players like Kuyt now, else you will be watching a marathon instead of football next season lol.

Best of luck this season! And upcoming seasons ;)

Ajax back in the title race in Holland, even with alot of injuries this entire season. :hooray:

  6. thats what i had said in the main forum thread too

likened it to the jennings to bayern deal where in reality he's signed for the youth team with the promise that if he impresses within 1/2 years he'll get to train with the full team

He singned for Brentford, never heard of that team  hehe

  7. Forrester seems to reject Ajax contract offer. Think Ajax wants him to be the first year in the youth team and Forrester wants to be in the Ajax squad itself. Thats my guess ;p

This opens doors to other Dutch teams though, if he is interested in the Dutch league anyway.

  8. There are rumors here that Jol will be their new coach. Jol just resigned (few minutes ago!!) as coach of Ajax. He only did it because he would have been sacked otherwise hehe. Since his flirt with Fulham the pressure was immense of him. And Jol lost... Or is Newcastle really an option?

  9. Ok, we can try his son then.. If you like Jol,then I hope he stays.. but let us have the striker then?? :winkold:

    Haha nooooooooooooooooo

Jol will be yours then. Suarez is king of Amsterdam! 8)

Think about it, if they both come here, then you can have MON and Heskey :winkold:

I dont know much of 'MON' , he might be the right one for us! ;)

And Feyenoord is in desperate need of a striker and dont got money for anyone. We got Heskey then and I feel a plan and another 6 points vs them this season :D

Alright to much offtopic nonsense hehe, back to ajax forums, bye bye ;)

  10. Happy for you :-) nah we probably end up with Bob Bradly and his son :-(

His son is talented! If I were you I would take Michael without his father ;)

If he dont cost to much, he might be a good choice. I have seen him playing some nice games at Heerenveen, but he made the wrong decision with a low table German team. He was to stubborn to wait for a better team. He can do better than Borussia MunchenGladback ..

And for Jol.. I think he do want to end his career in the premier league, but cant see him leaving this summer, not now. That would be insanly stupid and rude of him. Maybe next year and else in 2 years at the end of his contract.

  11. Who are some of these guys

I dont know about Eriksson, maybe he is a fantastich coach, but he is like a whore of football. Flirting with so many clubs..

Bob Bradly, hehe his name is funny. But he is from soccer nation, not football, I dont like that ;)

Klinsmann is a huge gamble, so far he seems not be ready for a clubteam job just like Van Basten

Bilic, dont know how he would do in Premier League, as coach of Croatia he is doing alright I guess

    Bruce Arena, haha avoid!!

Pelligrini, good choice, was impressed by him as Real Madrid coach

    Hitzfeld, to old hmm?

    Adams, lol avoid I guess

le Guen, did very well at Lyon!! might be an interesting choice?

    Gullit, j/k

Terim, good coach but doesnt see him fit in Premier League somehow

Rijkaard, good guy, did very well at Barca, still think he is best coaching 'star players' though

All the others I dont know or dont see them coming. From these guys I would pick Pelligrini or le Guen, but there arent known with Premier League hmm. Maybe a good English coach/manager then, I dont know many tbh. Guess I overrated ten Cate, he is not even on the list :D

But I have a feeling that Randy goes after Martin Jol(that's why he takes his time),and then I feel that Jol goes after Luis Suárez.

oh that would be nice :-)

    Would be? It is! ;)

If Suarez leaves it will be Spurs I think. They play CL this season, but Suarez is to expansive atm (30-40 million), Ajax might drop the price if we dont reach the group stage of CL.

  12. Jol wont come. El Hamdaoui and Mido transferred both to Ajax, both because of Jol. He would be really dirty if he leaves now lol. Do you really want to go Dutch? Hmm let me see. Ronald and Erwin Koeman are both without team ;) Ten Cate and Adriaanse are both in Asia. I didnt like Henk ten Cate much, but he did good at Chelsea right? Adriaanse is just Van Gaal only then more rude heheh... but damn good with young guys! And a good scout. Advocaat and Hiddink are betrayers, but dont think they will leave this soon. They just started at Russia and Turkey. Van Gaal only will leave Bayern for a national team, van Marwijk stays at the Dutch team I guess. Rijkaard perhaps? I have no clue how he is doing, somehow I think he wouldnt mind leave Galatasaray hmmm.

If Aston Villa has a very young team I would pick Adriaanse, is Aston Villa has many star players I would pick Rijkaard. If its in between I wouldnt pick any of these guys ;)

  13. What a nonsense! Sorry to say this but what the hell is this about? Players love to play in Europa League, dont forget Europa League is still big outside maybe English and Spanish competition. Premier League is full of talented players all over the world, watching all kind of games. Dont forget you get the same amount of points in EL either. Aston Villa, if you end up 4th or higher, will go into into the CL with a lousy amount of points, being unseeded every single round! And watch the groups. Sevilla, Glasgow Rangers, Stuttgart and Unirea, and now this group. Panathinaikos, Galatasaray, Dinamo Bucharesti and Sturm Graz. You know the answer already, but without watching the draw. Could you tell which one the CL group is and which one the EL group is? I couldnt tell you...

  14. Loved this game! Barcelona humiliated United :D What an average team they are compared with mighty Barcelona. Always good to see how that crybaby made sad faces (C Ronaldo ;))

Now just waiting for the news how much United will pay. Hope it will be loads, this was 80-90 minutes football lessons in every single aspect :D

    hahahaha!
