    New CB could be McNair

    New RB ... Not sure?

    Creative midfielder could be Ravel

and I think Bamford as the other striker?

Fingers crossed, that would be amazing if all of those came in.

    I would like DeAndre Yedlin

Investment was priority, whilst it's impressive how much he's done in a month, I'm not impressed with the squad largely remaining as was.

Although we do have a similar squad as we did this time last month, I don't see how you can be unimpressed. He has publicly announced he is trying to reduce the squad numbers and bring in a few more players before the transfer window closes.

Put it into perspective, Remi Garde still in charge while being taken over by a guy who couldn't give a damn about the club, investing minimal money and was anonymous for the whole season, or if i told you last year that a new chairman was coming in, with a former champions league winner as a manager, with the chairman investing highly in the club trying to please the fans, which would you prefer?

I really think we are in no state to be 'not impressed' by anything imo. Give it time.

Albrighton, Cahill and the Gardner brothers came through the academy a long time ago in football terms. Green may do well, he may not. I have seen bugger all from Grealish to suggest anything thus far to be honest. We can't rely on th academy

All very true, however didn't we win the NextGen series a couple of years ago with all our youngsters? i know most of them have moved on from villa but we must be doing something right.

Also i don't think it's a short term plan, Man City have invested heavily in their academy facilities, as well as splashing cash on players. Tony has opened a facility in India as well, so for a months work i think its all 100% positive.

He is obviously a very talented player and I do think he could go on to play for a top 6 club in the PL, but I really wasn't impressed with his attitude last season. Not bothered either way.

You're saying Gueye over Drinkwater, Mendy, WIlshere, Ramsey, Dier, Alli, Toure, Fernandinho, Schwiensteiger, and potentially Pogba?

Heard a whisper through connected people at work that wolves are in advanced talks with Real to sign someone that will leave people gobsmacked. No names given but I was told he wouldn't be out of place in a top 4 Prem team. (I work in football btw and hear snippets) come dr X back your Twitter talk up with actions!

If we were to sign say Bentaleb on loan (dream)  Pritchard. Bamford &/or Wilson on loan. A new RB I'd be quietly confident. We need actions not twitter sound bites fast.

    ITK!!!!!

We start with more quality (at Championship level) than Wolves so atm we are still one of the favourites to go up, with everyone a long way behind Newcastle. I'd put us on par with Brighton and Norwich as things stand, which is why I'd like a bit more quality in our ranks to pull ourselves away from the rest.

Atleast we're in for an exciting season.

  7. Aston Villa are weighing up a move for Preston North End defender Gregg Cunningham, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.

The Republic of Ireland international enjoyed a fantastic debut season for Simon Grayson's side and he was named as Players' Player of the Season as well as Fans' Player of the Season at the club's end of season awards.

Cunningham made 46 appearances in all competitions and played a key role in helping Preston to a successful campaign in their first season back in the Championship.

Cunningham's form has alerted several of Preston's Championship rivals and Aston Villa are keeping a close eye on his situation at Deepdale as Roberto Di Matteo looks to bolster his full-back options.

Cunningham is entering the final year of his contract at Preston after signing a two-year contract on his arrival from Bristol City last summer.

If we can field something like this (it is a bit of a leap I know including Bamford and others linked with leaving) then I think we'd be in with a shot of a finish towards the top of the league.

                       Gollini

    Richards   Elphick   Okore   Amavi

               Gana     Tshibola

    Adama                           Grealish

                  Ayew

                            Bamford

    New RB maybe??

God that away kit is crap how can the sleeves be a different colour to the top part? sleeves should be blue.

the shorts are the same colour as the chest, so im guessing it would be a bit too much blue with the sleeves.

Apparently we have enquired about Kalmar FF striker Marcus Antonsson.  any of our scandinavian friends know much about him?

Averaged a goal every 1.5 games in Sweden. Only played 12 games in the league and has scored 10.

Welcome Roberto (and Steve, fingers crossed)

I think this is a fantastic appointment for us. Do you think they realise we are in the championship?

I hope so, otherwise its quite a terrible start...
