Not a good game to judge him on. Needs a week to train and start a few games before we can see what he is about.

I think he will be a good aigning for them

Exactly, first game, a few days after moving, playing against his childhood club in a game where his new club are already down and out.

Judge him later in the season.

A lighter was thrown at a Man City player during the match

Something appeared to have been thrown at Cash during the game (he was indicating something to the referee) and shortly afterwards there was a tannoy announcement telling people not to throw things onto the pitch.

Utter scum club. Hope they ban them from the club and the Police lock them up.

Burnley will be pleased. On Sunday, Villa will be playing their 3rd match in 7 days, mostly with the same players; Burnley their 1st for 16 days...

Its the fourth game of the season for us, and the last couple of games we haven't really got out of second gear and haven't really played with much intensity and bought on subs quite early, so tiredness is not going to be a factor.

Sky schedule for channel 964 doesn't show the Villa game

    964 is BBC ONE Scotland

844 is BBC Scotland and is the one you want.

187 is BBC Scotland in SD - if for some reason you wanted a worse picture quality.

If you were asking about the standard of St.Mirren, I would say we would win the English Premier League and probably Champions League. We are so good, we had to let John McGinn go as he was bringing us down.
Currently we are joint top of SPL and in quarter finals of the League Cup………where Hibernian awaits us.

Yeah, but you look like Newcastle.

They will stay up because there are so many shit teams there.

Everton vs wolves next week already looking like a massive game

I'm not so sure about that, yes, there are some shit teams, but Everton look particularly terrible at the moment. They are going down this year.

People saying we'd need him if we get a couple of injuries, I think it's also fair to say that after a couple of injuries we wouldn't be clamouring to sign a winger from Hull.

He looks a bright spark, but if fulfills his potential he'll be back again anyway.

He'll get nowhere sitting on the bench here hoping one of the first team does a hamstring.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. I recon at the rate we are going he will be first choice by October.

edit - ah, beaten to it!

I saw a tweet a couple of days ago from a fan... it was after the rumour of a failed medical for Zaniolo and it said something like "Welcome to another day in Villa's shambolic transfer window"

I nearly signed up just to reply! This is probably our greatest transfer window - Tielemens, Diaby and Torres!

I think it shows you will never please everyone. These fans will be the ones that turn on Emery and the owners in due course because we aren't Man City.

It's ridiculous isn't it? Villa (and other clubs) will go about their transfer business as they see fit, in a timeframe of their choosing, paying absolutely no interest in what the baying mob on Twitter/Facebook/Elsewhere are saying. They will not (and should not) give a running commentary on what is happening, no matter how much we would like them to.

We have been going about our business quietly and professionally and have signed some excellent players, the sort that should take us to the next level, at excellent (dare I say bargain) prices. Meanwhile a bunch of melts on the Internet are losing their shit because some nobody with a Twitter (I refuse to call it X) account has made up some bullshit rumour because that is the only satisfaction they get in their sad little lives.

Well if he realised the bullshit he made up for likes and clicks had been rightly identified as horse-shit he did the right thing deleting his article and tweet

Maguire is far better than Chambers or Hause (who are both Championship standard and one of them if not both should be moved on IMO), anyone who thinks otherwise is kidding themselves. Maguire is also a leader and good in both boxes as well as being a very good passer of the ball.
