Seems as if this is becoming more likely, so thought its own topic was worthy.
If we can sort it so it's not financially a burden, and given how sherwood got him playing brilliantly again, I think he could be a good signing. UTV.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3167088/Aston-Villa-open-talks-Tottenham-Emmanuel-Adebayor.html
"Aston Villa have opened talks with Tottenham over the proposed transfer of Emmanuel Adebayor.
Manager Tim Sherwood has earmarked the 31-year-old as a replacement for Liverpool-bound Christian Benteke.
Tottenham want around £4million for Adebayor but the stumbling block is his wages of £100,000-a-week. Villa hope to arrange a deal where bonuses can supplement Adebayor's wages." -
I want him gone now, nothing personal towards him, just sick of the constant destabilising speculation, that will remain if he stays.
Good luck Christian, get it done so we can rebuild. UTV

Not that he will care, with his ten's of millions in the bank, but this BS debacle will stick with him his whole career, yeah but no but yeah but no delphy!
-
Glad the media are playing on his "loyalty" bs, he deserves to look like a word removed.
-
Just leave now Delph, I don't want you at my club, I don't want your loyalty. UTV

Really hope we do well enough next season to prompt Delph to renegotiate his contract and get rid of this buyout fee.
-
Sherwood acknowledging the low buyout fee...
"I knew there was interest from Manchester City and few other clubs who had shown a lot of interest in Fabian as I expected for such a small fee on the buyout clause,” Sherwood said. “But he never ever indicated to me that he wanted to leave."
Article also mentions Delphs knees as a reason for the signing not gong through, Sherwood's response...
“If he’s got bad knees then I want them! There’s nothing wrong with him,”

Should have been 4...

Forget last post, live option has just appeared
-
Can anyone confirm this, I'm subscribed to avtv, does that mean I get to watch the preseason games, or still have to pay an additional fee per game/s? It's just that I can see no option ATM for tonight's game...

Must have failed the medical
-
Looks like he has gone, just hope the ITK opinions might bring a sliver lining and we are getting more than the quoted 8-10 million......

No news on Amavi signing then...
-
Interesting...
http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/defiant-aston-villa-include-christian-5983067
"Aston Villa have defiantly included Christian Benteke in their kit launch teaser - despite continued interest from Liverpool and Tottenham."
-
He was playing whilst injured.
Huh?Like this signing. CLearly bought as a CB not a RB which means Vlaar and probably Senderos are long gone.
Thats what I think. You need pace in the cb areas. Something Okore and Vlaar clearly haven't got and Richards has.
What about the Southampton game?

Good signing, welcome Micah.

If only they hadn't retired...Abou Diaby haha
Why not go for Hargreaves, Dyer, Anderton, e.t.c as well
-
Providing he's medically sound now, Abou Diaby would be good on a free...
Wow
Lol, I know his injury record is ridiculously bad, but I saw him play against our reserves last season, owned the midfield.
Good player IMO, could be worth a gamble for free and low wages, if it doesn't work out, he can keep joe and libor company.

Loan would be ideal, split his wages down the middle with Spurs. Hopefully the added incentive of playing for a contract would also be a positive.
