  1. "Apparently" he's been cryogenicly frozen to prevent Liverpool cancelling the loan before we can buy him. They've installed three phase power in the room behind the trophy cabinet to keep his temperature constant. There'll be a board meeting later this season to decide when to thaw him.

  2. Apparently a few of the new signings want out already. This has been reflected in their training performances, Garde I'm suspecting has been bought in to protect the investment made in the summer as it appears that most of our outlay has been pissed away on people that don't like it here. Apparently they are simply not trying and appear to have more than a touch of the CNZ's about them. The club is a mess and i'm starting to wonder what effort the pro Sherwood  bunch are are going to put in with Garde. In terms of staff if Garde is going to win the battle then Parks, Kmac and Cowans will need to go

    Oh you ray of sunshine.

  3. He can be dangerous, and we need that edge. But where should he play?

He was surprisingly good in that position today, probably because he's reasonably creative and Westwood and Sanchez aren't. Overall I think he should be our RB so that we can have him on the pitch and a slightly better player in midfield. Saying that I like Hutton fine, and he played well at Spurs today I thought.

Bacuna or Hutton.... it's good to have a choice, I think they're both good enough for us at the moment. Hutton's offensive game gets too much flak here I think... anyway, I like Leo, always have.

Agreed. Seeing as buying strikers is a lottery, I'd save the money to put towards an extra striker. We should buy two strikers before we buy a RB.

  4. I can't knock K Mac, didn't he state he would be on the phone to TS about the team selection? That looked like a TS team to me tonight... Just sayin emoji6.png

    It was worse than Sherwood.

Yeah, it was like someone had said to Tim Sherwood "If you had the chance to bollox it up all over again only better, what team would you pick?"

  5. I still don't understand why he'd deliberately leave out our summer buys though? What point does he prove there?

As I said on another thread, maybe he wasn't trying to prove a point. He doesn't strike me as that vindictive. Maybe he figures the Ligue 1 signings will be featuring more with Garde coming in and thought he'd give the older players a final chance, foolishly thinking they might take it.

  6.

Team going forward has to be

    Guzan

    Hutton Richards Okore amavi

    Sanchez Gana

    Traore Veretout Gil

    Ayew

    Guzan

    Bacuna Richards Okore amavi

    Traore Veretout Gana Gil

    Ayew Gestede

for me... And I've just noticed that Guzan is the only similarity to the starting team v Spurs, with Bacuna moved.

  7. Maybe Neville had a point when he said that the team Kmac put out was him trying to prove a point to the like of Fox and Reilly as 6 of the bench were summer signings, the other was Gil and Gana and Adama don't even make the squad. Like he was trying to prove that homegrown experience is the way to go and not the foreigners.

Well KMac is a **** moron then.He can shove his theory and opinion up his arse, along with his p45.

I like to give KMac the benefit of the doubt. Maybe he figured he'd give the non-Frenchies a last chance before the French manager moves in, naively thinking they might take that last chance.

  8. First thing he needs to do is bin Richardson, Lescott, Sinclair and Gabby from our starting 11. We have no chance of staying up with that mob in the starting 11. Clark had a shocker aswell but we're a bit stuck there until Okore gets fully fit.

Anyway though Remi seems reasonably clued up so he will restore people like Gana, Amavi to the starting 11 and do something revoulutionary like giving Jordan  Ayew a run of games, y'know a striker who can actually score goals.

They're no world beaters but I'd go with a spine of Guzan-Richards-Gana-Sanchez-Gil-Ayew and fill in with the rest and hope that can scramble some points up to January. People like Grealish, Traore and Veretout have roles to play off the bench.

Good luck getting 10 wins with that squad though.

That's another thing, Lerner needs to follow his hard hitting statement by back Remi in January, we need a striker and centre half as a minimum.

I like Sinclair - still think he has goals in him. What I don't understand though is why he never crosses the ball. And I mean NEVER. Its bizarre - he cuts back on his right foot so much, but never tries to swing the ball in. Dare I say it - can you imagine Gestede on the end of some of Albrighton's crosses (can't believe I just said that). In fact, even today when Gestede came on, I can only think of that Bacuna cross that Gestede headed wide - did anyone else cross the ball at all?

Not to my recollection. I don't think Garde will have written Gestede off after today's game. If you have a one trick pony you get it to do its trick ffs.

  9. I know literally nothing about him or results at lyon but MNF showed he waswas 12th for clean sheets (which I imagine is pretty bad for a team that finished 4th/3rd. Obviously doesn't tell much of the story).

That sounds okay, I don't mind if he only gets us 12th for clean sheets if we finish 4th/3rd.

  10. Why hasn't he been playing? As soon as he came on we actually look like we might do something

DO something?? We can't have that sort of thing. Dangerous thinking.

    burn him for heresy now.

    Chappy, not Gill.

Not so fast. We shouldn't rush out and burn the guy. We should stop and consider. Is burning possibly too good for him?

  11. Should of made it 2-2 but unfortunately he's donkey, that was as good a chance as you get at the top level and his finish was pathetic.

He's a handful, and if we set up more than just the one single chance for him he will score. I think you're being too harsh. Plus he's about the only show in town at the moment, so we pretty much have to at least give him a FEW more chances before we write him off.

I've seen enough tbh, I'm fine with him being an option from the bench but I want a more rounded striker to be leading the line for us, one that runs the channels, can take on a player, takes up good positions in the opposition box and is clinical.   Maybe Ayew is that player and we at least need to give Kozak a go.

Agreed about giving Kozak a go, but if Ayew is up front, I'd like to see him tried out alongside Gestede instead of instead of Gestede (he he) so we've got a variety of threats on goal.

  14. He'll be gone as soon as any vaguely big club comes in for him. How good or not good he will eventually be is irrelevant as it won't be at Villa Park.

Come now. This is unnecessary and probably not true. Not that we're even going to have that tested at this rate, his form is terrible. He was atrocious at Spurs today.

But he remains one of our best players, because on a good day he is very, very good.

  15. KMac showing why he's not going to be a PL manager any time.

FFS, we already KNOW last year's team will lose every game. What are we going to achieve by playing the same bunch every time?

  16. Hurry up and announce so I can get my pay out damn it.

Maybe he's just too distraught at not getting his backroom staff in six days ago, and has changed his mind about the whole thing. Typical bloody Villa possibly. Fox out.
