He's been struggling for a while now. He looked great when he first went to Roma but he's fell off and he's nowhere near good enough for us now.
That said I think he'd be invaluable for the likes of Ipswich if they could afford him.

Doubt it - we have 22 out of 25 fit (based on what may be our squad)
The chances are that out for most of the season - having only 3 players out would be a luxury.
They are new and young - they'll be needed and will get their chances. But wow - that bench looked strong, and the subs made a huge difference. Just no drop in performance.
Probably the strongest Villa bench I've seen in many years. It was refreshing. That said, we'll need that bench with the challenges of Champions League to consider.

From BBC Sport:
Chelsea 0-2 Man City
Chelsea owner Todd Boehly leaves his seat to walk back into the box. Probably got to make phone calls with a million agents about a load of new signings.

Looks like Chelsea might need to spend another £500m.
They just need to sell another hotel.

Chelsea signed Dewsbury Hall? They really are signing everyone.

Nope.
I find most games Man City are involved in really dull.
City are so well drilled, but man are they boring to watch.

Am I the only one who finds watching both these sides boring to watch?

The amount of acting and diving this weekend as been crazy, can't recall it ever being this bad.

Jackson having a bit of a shocker.

I hate that offside rule, it's just stupid to play on when he was clearly offside.

Great goal from Haaland, showed his strength.

Do Chelsea not have a sponsor?

Get up ya big wussy. Pathetic acting to try and get a penalty.

Good goal but the defending wasn't great.

Very telling if he is, none of the big boys rated him as worth a punt.
Likely the asking price turned them off. Toney is a great striker but with teams being more careful due to financial restraints, few clubs can afford to pay the £100 million plus Brentford want for him.
A move to Saudi is the most sensible move for player and club. Brentford get good money for him and Toney can all but semi retire and bet to his hearts content.

Toney off to Saudi apparently
Makes sense. Doubt a lot of Premiership clubs would be willing to pay the fee Brentford are asking.

Looks like someone about to buy Toney, Frank saying he's left out today because of transfer development
Yep, not surprised. Curious where he goes though because he won't be cheap.

3-0, embarrassing from Wednesday.

Sunderland destroying Wednesday.

I still have a feeling he'll leave. It's a case of getting the money we want for him though and replacing him. That won't be easy unless we already have someone in place due to the timescale.

He's a Villa legend for me, but his card records are shocking.

Joe Gomez definitely improved last season but I'm still not his biggest fan, especially if it's over Geertruida. Still sounds like Duran could be on his way out.

Buendia and Barkley not even needed
I like this squad depth thing
It was great to see Buendia in the squad again.

Cracking win, I didn't expect that after preseason. Our bench looked a LOT stronger compared to last season. Thought Onana looked solid and Maatsen already looks like the player he showed at Dortmund.
It was inevitable Duran would score, but got to give him credit because it was a brilliant finish.

Even with the board changes, it still sounds like Barca are being run like s**t. It's like why buy players when you know you won't be able to register them?
