  1. Love the amount of people on here saying delph is shit, average and we won't miss him. Every villa fan in the world would rather keep him than lose him, he's a huge loss, but let's not be bitter about it now. He's a good player, and I hope he gets games at Man city to prove all those doubters (that weren't villa fans) what he is actually capable of doing. He did us a favour in Jan, signed a contract, helped keep us up, and we get 8mill for him. Yeah it's not the best figure but he wouldn't of imagined Man city being interested and coming in for him. As much as us fans want loyalty its delphs job at the end of the day, and if you had been offered twice as much wages, to go work at a better company, with better prospects and a real chance to make a name of yourself, you wouldn't turn it down. And if you did it would be because you lack ambition! Put yourself in delphs boots!

You can't say people aren't Villa fans for wanting Delph to fail if he joins them. Once he's gone he's dead to me.

  2. Deluded clearing in the woods. I remember him saying that England should sack Gary Neville and hire him as coach instead because he was the best defender in the world, then made some comment about the England captaincy going to Beckham and not him.

If he is London mayor he will go for Prime Minister next.

"Why should I, Sol Campbell, not be the Prime Minister?"

  3. There is a poster on here who is ITK and knows Delph in person I think. Remember him saying he isn't going and that was from the horse's mouth and that the only clause was relegation related.

    Anyone else remember reading this?

  4. I think this is bullshit. He's always struck me as a good lad, I have no reason to believe he will go there. He said he wouldn't leave last summer and he didn't, when everyone had expected him to leave on a free. I believe everything he said on that video.

Even if that wasn't the case, with the Euros next year it'd be incredibly stupid to risk his England place by spending the season as a back up player at one club rather than captain and leader of another. It doesn't matter how much money they offer, a place at the Euros next year is a once in a lifetime thing I'd imagine. He's sorted for life anyway.

I'm keeping faith in Delphy until I have reason not to and there is some confirmation he wants to go or a deal is in place.

  5. The new Umbro West Ham kit is really quite nice (except for the logo and sponsor obviously)

Considering that this is meant to be a retro tribute kit you would think they'd do something fitting like drop the sponsor on it.

  6. When it comes to choosing a manufacturer is it the club who decide that yeah its them we want to go with or is it the manufacturer who lets the club use their brand?  i.e.  how are we stuck with this Macron rubbish and would the likes of Nike and Adidas want to be associated with a team whose ambition is to keep escaping relegation every year?

Only 1 team is sponsored by Nike in the entire Premier League, tells you something when all the clubs have left them, as for Adidas they have the same templates for every team

Not just in England, but off the top of my head:

    Celtic (New Balance)

    Juventus (Adidas)

    PSV (Umbro)

Have all left as well. Now wouldn't be a bad time to go back to Nike really.

As for Adidas, they do use the same templates but their stuff is by far the best quality of any manufacturer. The bigger problem would be getting the three stripes to suit the claret and blue.

  7. Kind of but it also reminds me of 3 years of pushing for Europe and champs league also.

Could do with a slight change maybe though to symbolise a new start perhaps?

We failed to make the CL though.

I think it should just go back to the 80s crest.

The 80s crest with a good lion would be a good compromise and different to what we've had in the past.

    Cadbury as our sponsor obviously.

  8. Umbro is realistic. They are trying to build up their prestige again after the Nike thing and losing all of their big contracts over time. In the Prem I think it's just Everton and West Ham they manufacture kits for so I could definitely see this happening.

I think the shirts need a crest change though. I wouldn't mind a simple gold lion embroidered on ala the Spurs cockerel. Either that or just go back to one of the previous crests as the current one just makes me think of five years of relegation fighting and no trophies.

  9. Dunno about them doing wonders.

These ones are the only really good ones they've made:

And they're both based on old shirts.

They try to put too much detail into things when it isn't needed (collars, sleeves, Macron men etc)

  10.

delph is too english for the top 4 clubs
