Lots of talk on how much we spend! For me that's not the issue its who we get in! Better players by rule mean more money yes but not all of the time(Gil,Benteke etc) the 'Dortmund or Southampton' way is the only way we can build to get us back to the top end! We have got rid of a lot of dead wood but if we look at the main three that have gone(going) vlaar delph Benteke! We have made a profit and if we done things properly (not letting contracts run down) we could of made more! Then we reinvest! For me this is a new start, any of the players that go in this window I don't care coz they have been so terrible for so long! A new Aston Villa! I believe we have the right people to do just that! When the FA cup final whistle went I said to a mate we need a complete overhaul! Well that's happening without doubt! With delph and Benteke etc we have been poor for a long time now, so I think the only way we can look at this in a positive way is with new we can hope for better! But time is of the essence. We need so much to address many problems we need more quality,as well we want a young side we have to have some leaders and experience! We do have that within the staff so let's hope that mix is the same mix on the field!

For some reason delph I did not want him to go but Benteke I think is for the good of the club to be able to move on and build, but I would not be surprised if this didn't happen! Even with Kozak we're really struggling for numbers upfront. Gabby is past it now, if Kozak can step up great, we've shifted bent and weimann.

If Benteke goes, we need at least 3 new strikers. One proven premier league talent, a promising youngster and someone to cover the starting strikers for injuries etc

WIth This in mind I Still think that Tim has a plan you don't get rid if you don't believe that you will fill the gaps. Two new forwards and one more winger/att mid will be on his shopping list and youth given a chance (Robinson/Calder etc) also another midfielder of some type and a lb and cb so I think 6 more in and the rest youth! That should do us then January and onwards he can fine tune his squad!

No no no no no if with seconds remaining in the transfer window we still haven't got what we need in this area then yes to a loan but that's it!

I think a complete forward (Costa type) will be his preference but saying that he has had good success with target man type players! All depends on are type of play he intends to go for he may look for two players so flexible with tactics!

All clubs bar the very elite lose their best players - it's a natural process. I'm not sure why some Villa fans consider us to be a special case in that regard.

Agree, if arsenal can't prevent their best players from joining city and Utd then why do fans expect us to be any different?

I don't but the rules stink bring back the days when a team like Nottingham forest come up from nowhere and win the European cup

Agreed on Hutton up until Lambert left he was easily our player of season in my view. So many games where he was the only one trying to make something happen and he was the bleeding RB

Although I remember how hard he was trying I think the fact he was our best player was more an indication of how bad the team was at that point.

From what I've seen he is Ashley Cole like but positioning not as good but still young enough to learn

Good appointment. I think this is more Tom Fox than Lerner. He seems to know what he wants to do at the club and apparently has a way of getting the Ian's from Randy.

Ok maybe you are right but from what Tim was saying players at the club happy to be here impressed by the training ground on good wages etc then Westwood fits the bill and if lambert was still here then I would share your thoughts! Fwiw I like Westwood and think he has a role to play but he was the first player I thought of from the comments!

Westwood will remain as midfield cover.

Depends who comes in and who comes up from the youth (eg Gardner) if Westwood is on wages that can be matched buy better quality and have (Gardner) as cover then maybe he will go!
