4. At least 2 fullbacks (I think the reason Crespo was brought in was to have him as the 3rd cover on either side)

7. Kozak either permanently or on loan

4. Veretout

5. Adebayor

6. Winger

7. Young striker

I agree with the departures, except for Kozak. Surely we need to give the lad a chance this season.

Also don't know why we would need another keeper.

We should play Crespo and Baker together at all times. The beard power would be off the charts.

Valencia have announced the signing of Australian goalkeeper Mathew Ryan on a six-year deal from Club Brugge.

Los Che had been on the lookout for a new stopper this summer following the long-term injury to number one Diego Alves, who will miss a large chunk of next season.

Ryan landed in Spain on Monday to discuss terms, and the deal has now been completed for a figure believed to be in the region of £5m.

"Valencia Football Club have reached an agreement with Belgian side Club Brugge KV to sign Australian international goalkeeper Mathew Ryan on a six-year deal," read a statement on the club's official website.

The 23-year-old, who moved to Brugge from Central Coast Mariners in 2013, represented Australia at the 2014 World Cup.

Ryan had reportedly been a long-term target for Liverpool.

I remember quite a few people saying that we should've been in for this lad.

Surely he knows that he must make a small investment now to protect the large investment that he's made over the past decade.

I love the people who are offended about Gueye's comments. I can't say that I'm surprised, though, in this day and age when everyone needs to be offended by something.

The main problem with Embolo is Juventus' interest. Even if we can outbid them, we'd need to convince a player to come here instead of holding out for them. Also, Juventus are looking at him long term, so i expect they'd be open to the idea of signing him and loaning him back for a year, which would be very appealing to them

Purely going on the conversation from a few pages back.

Talk was that our 10m bid wouldn't be enough because of a €20m bid from Juventus being rejected.

And the fact they've already got such good strikers prompted my points about buying for the future so possibly being open to a loan back.

 

If Basel have rejected a 20m euro bid from Juve, think of how highly they must rate this kid.
