    I agree... but I have a real hard time parsing what's happening over there given the geo-political games being played.

    But... somebody always benefits, e.g., Egyptian military will likely get lots of terrorism dollars and military assistance from the US now, which will probably help repair some of the damage done to the US/Egypt alliance by the recent military coup. This should help the USA regain an ally in the region and also benefits the long term Israel/Egypt relationship.

    Oh, and the Russians will be pressured into further embroiling themselves in this mess. 

    Of course, this may all be just lucky consequences of the actions of those ISIS guys... but they ain't stupid either.

    Saudi/Qatar are allies of the US/UK/France and could be easily interpreted as direct proxies, and ISIS is being funded by these guys. Not that war is likely to result, but I would expect this is how it will be interpreted on the Russian side.

    Now the question is... did ISIS do this on their own or were they given some help by one of the various government agencies playing the game over there... CIA/Mossad jump to the front of the queue given their previous.

    Richards is a poser. Got chased out of city, and couldn't get a game at Fiorentina. Of course, Villa to the rescue...

    Robert: Pretty please, makes our entire squad suffer. Drill the professional athlete part of being a Villa squad member into their thick skulls.

    Smacks of McCarthyism on here at the moment. The vitriol towards KMac is unbelievable which makes me wonder if others have an agenda and are settling scores in some way. Nothing would surprise me!

    Mike I thought that too but then reflected and think it's actually people wanting a chance to cut out all bad at the club.  There is something rotten at VP and BMH.  Yes Randy is a huge problem but there is also something more than that.  Sherwood's losers comment was pretty close for me.  There is a mentality / culture at the club we need to get rid of.  It's part of me saying the whole club is in a mess.  I think the comments you reference are actually about people wanting to cut out this culture from the club completely and perhaps being a little over zealous in that.

    This a thousand times over. From a footy365 article today regarding Remi's todo list.

    Gabby still being here is symptomatic of the entire culture of the club. Mediocrity defines the club and .... well, I'll stop here before I get virtually assassinated. Some harsh medicine is required and I'd hope Remi can provide it rather than the championship.

    Not Richards for me, he's an incredibly self centered player with a vastly over-estimated view of his own capabilities.

    If Gana has his head on right, him, or maybe vertout if Remi knows him well enough. No more of this old guard English nonsense, a good spring cleansing is what is needed, and that clown Sherwood was not up to the task.

    Don't over-react, my point is that I'm not a fan of the current man and change is needed. That Veretout has done nothing under the previous moron means feck all to me. He's clearly been one of the leading French midfielders in his age group thus far and Sherwood is a known idiot.

    That, outside of Richards and Gabby (shudder!), we have such a lack of obvious supposed leaders in the squad is a real worry.

    Sign a RB, CB, GK and a striker in Jan.

     

    Get rid of Lescott, Clark, Guzan, Bacuna, Gabby.

     

    Play Ayew Gil Amavi every single game and maybe MAYBE we may have a chance

    I'd hang onto bacuna as he's a useful squad player and we frankly need some players with technical ability in the squad. I'll chip in for a cab for the other 4/
