Just a innocent prediction on how the race will play out, is it brave to call a rare home win against the Merseysiders

    Villa Fixtures

    Chelsea (H) - D
    Brighton (A) - L
    Liverpool (H) - W
    Crystal Palace (A) W

    Total - 73 Pts

    Spurs Fixtures

    Arsenal (H) - D
    Chelsea (A) - W
    Liverpool (A) - L
    Burnely (H) - W
    Man City (H) - D
    Sheff Utd (A) - W

    Total - 71 Pts

We draw at home to Chelsea and Spurs beat them away? I mean, it could happen, and Spurs could only lose one more game, but I don't see that myself.

  2. What superb news. Just brilliant and will give the lads an extra boost going into the final games - they all want to play for him.

  3. He'll stay while we're pushing on. At the very least a couple more years IMO.

Don't forget Monchi has relatively just arrived and we've only bought Rogers and a couple of other kids in that time. Despite PSR etc, I couldn't be more excited about who might come in over the summer and where we might be this time next year. Emery ain't going to bail before they've even got going together.

  4. Would be nice to finish on 2ppg! 10 from 4 - don't see why not.

Think 4th is as good as done now (opta has us up to 80.7% chance) - I just can't see Unai letting it slip. The confidence and momentum is with us throughout the squad - they believe.

Very tricky. As I thought we looked flat as hell against Lille.

Even trickier thought… how does Kamara fit into all of this?! Recent performances and progress makes me think we actually only need one of Luiz or Kamara….

Look at the bench today and that even after extra time mid-week, Emery couldn't make changes until 80+ minutes. We definitely need all the bodies back to compete long term. What we're achieving now is a miracle.

  6. Big Emi - amazing. Matty & Leon - superb. And shout out to Ollie nailing that pen with the pressure of waiting and his dodgy history. That was truly excellent.

Straightforward semi please. I can't take that again.

PS - proof I think that this is not a 3rd rate trophy. It really means something.

Knocking all of the old shit down in the 60s and 70s to replace it with shit concrete that needed replacing 30 years later probably. In the name of removing the "slums" a lot of what would now be really nice (look at the jewelry quarter) got replaced with brutalist awfulness.

Anyway, strong side that. I like Konsa and Pau as a pair a lot. Digne should be up for it. Hopefully the atmosphere won't get to them and we can play our own game. Lille already showed how good they are with the ball so we need to keep the faith in our own game and try and impose it on them. Come out the blocks fast and silence the crowd with an early goal....

Some amazing brutalist stuff around though - you can have both that and older stuff working together. eg National Theatre/South Bank, Barbican etc.

On topic - we really need to watch the cards tonight. Don't need anyone being banned for the semis (if we get there).

not sure if the game is broadcasted in the UK but if any of you is looking for a good legal high-quality streaming for tonight , the game is broadcasted for free on Lille's local TV : https://www.bfmtv.com/grand-lille/en-direct/
i suspect you might need a VPN set on "france"  though (not quite sure)

    very excited for tonight !

Seems to be working (currently) sans VPN. After something about garlic, asparagus and artichokes they are in full on preview mode with a previous manager and talking about Villa fans without tickets in the fan zone. My 35years in the past a-level french is struggling to manage more than a surface understanding. Let's hope they don't move on to low-block transitions.

Ah! Been in London a similar amount of time to me then. Nice.

Went to Feed The Yak last night. FULL of Villa fans. It's on Sayer Street in Elephant. Check it out.

Must check that out. I'm further south, but it's not too bad to get to.

Man City edgy. Arsenal probably going out. Atletico failing. West Ham crumbling. Liverpool shocking. Villa have it tough. Just couldn't have gone much worse.

City and Arsenal are level in their ties. We are ahead in ours. West Ham were always unlikely to progress. Liverpool is the only really bad result and I wouldn't write them off completely yet.

Glass is half full this season.
