GET IN THERE MY SON. Best Argentine since Maradona.

I can't see us giving wages of 80k+ a week to someone who has not proven themselves in the division. It's looking like the PL is a big step up for a lot of these Bundesliga players so we have to be careful with that.
Unfortunately, you pay a premium for players like Bissouma who you know are going to hit the ground running.
Yeah the bundesliga has been hit and miss with imports lately. Sancho, Werner, Joelinton, Havertz. They probably will all come good eventually but it does make you question the level over there.

Gerrard called him our "most consistent player" before the FA Cup game. He knows quite a bit more about football than anyone on this forum
(but especially you)
I’ll take Gerrard on any day in a football quiz. He might make up ground on 70’s Liverpool trivia but I’ll nail him on Serie A.
On the Watkins quote, do you really believe he was being honest?

I've really heard it all on this forum recently.
People comparing Douglas Luiz to Ashley Westwood and now Ollie Watkins to Andi Weimann.
People are so unbelievably ungrateful. Watkins is the most all-round striker we have had since Yorke and will only get better. He'll be second to Kane at the World Cup imo.
Good one

Drop them both, play archer.

Where’s he posted this?
I think it’s actually taken from a 2x Scottish BAFTA winners Twitter.

Reminds me of Andi Weimann. 95% effort 5% ability.

Every single player on the pitch was dreadful for 99% of that match. Few moments of quality from Ramsey and Buendia. Stunned at how bad that was. Simple passes. Reacting like drunks. They must look around the leagues and wonder how they’ve bluffed their way to this level. Watkins and Ings, £60 million.
I hope Michael Oliver wakes up in Saigon tomorrow morning before being sent up river.

Watkins was really unlucky not to bury that chance, but that chance wouldn’t have existed if it wasn’t for him sniffing the opportunity out and winning the ball from Lindelof, he did so well to fashion the chance but just couldn’t finish it. He’s been decent tonight though, I hope he gets a goal and can earn a reprieve from VillaTalk.
Consider the millions of chances we would have had if he could trap or pass or dribble with a football.

Dreadful half

Watkins is so depressing

They won’t get out of the championship with Howe in charge.

Maradona was 24 when he joined Napoli from Barca. Hopefully he can emulate a fellow South American.
-
If this Barca team was in the premier league, where would they finish?
And they’re desperate to get rid shot of him. I’ll be very happily surprised if this works out well for us.

Burnley been the masters of draws this season.
11 points after 16 games is the result.
If you can't find wins you are going down, simple as that really.
And that's Newcastle and Burnley's core problem. They don't win football games.
Are you Mark Lawrenson?

Foden is a very good player but... so bizarre. Who but a sub-normal person would think he's on Ronaldo's level?
Troll farms exist to pump shit like this out but theres also people with so little going on in their lives they need notifications to make their life worth living. I think this is the latter.

Another outstanding performance.
The intensity
The will to run forward
Just a joy to watch.
Too much.
You’re usually an absolute artist but this is the work of a lesser performer.

Agree with you on the financial element but he's definitely not done.
He is a confidence player, he needs to feel loved and feel like he's one of the big dogs at a club to succeed. Mourinho did a classic Mourinho job on shutting him out when he doesn't like someone.
Daniel Levy should have let him leave on loan last January. By not doing so he's paid him a years wages for nothing and further damaged his already fragile confidence.
Teaming up with Gerrard could be a masterstroke, but like you say, it will come with a moohassive financial outlay.
You and Matt Law must share a single brain.
