In recent summers we usually make a couple of early signings. Looks like this will be the 2024 version?

Re election coverage, the news channels seem obsessed of giving all of the nations coverage but not the regions like the midlands. Due to devolution Scotland and Wales return less MP's know and are less of an importance in the electoral calculations. But as ever london media can't really understand this.
Scotland and Wales 'are of less of an importance' not a great argument that for the Union....

Atalanta have been brilliant.

Atalanta playing this the way I hoped we would play the four Cup finals we have been in since 2000:

Lever looking very casual so far.

I am going to get one so I can help my old mate Chris Heck out.

The Irish, Norwegians and Spanish are 'rewarding Hamas'.
Isn't the official US/Israel position they want a two state solution?
Or is that just rhetoric?

It hasn't even been 15 days yet mate!
They did tell us work would commence.
I'm sure they will be doing as you suggest.
I think we are just a bit impatient on all fronts as fans, especially with no Football to watch!
I can recall you posting at one point that you found it odd that infrastructure was clearly the area we needed to address to catch up with the revenue of Spurs, West Ham and the more traditional leading clubs like Arsenal, Liverpool, Man U etc yet we had all on hold. It was in the new stadium speculation iirc.
It's easy to dismiss as impatience what is genuinely a concern for the medium term ability of Villa to compete at the top end with infrastructure not up to scratch and falling further behind and a lack of adequate explanation as to why we aren't pressing on with the major redevelopment we had planned. Great, we are doing some small scale works that will work short term - still the elephant on the room remains: how we going to bridge the revenue gap without major redevelopment?

Absolute joke. Premier league has sold its soul to the Saudis.
Unai, you will just have to win us the league next year.

Didn't he and a few others get bad cases of Covid?
Yeah, that's how I remember it. We were never the same after the covid outbreak

When I was a kid you would always see villa kit on sale in sports shops in Ireland. Since about 2011 I don't think I have spotted any.

I think he was going to be sold in August only for Mings got injured

True, but he's been the dog's bollocks when it comes to new commercial deals , to be fair.
You would hope we are getting better deals now as a club finishing in top 7, top 4 than we were as a newly promoted club trying to establish ourselves in the league.

Yeah, and we also had the 2023 announcement shelved.
Can't help but feel they could have had a big splash when we started this journey but they messed it up really.

I personally am thankful for the job Purslow did here, from 2018 to 2023. He represented the club well, was clear about what the plan was and showed some vision. Those in place now operate in a different Club to the one he walked into in 2018.

Dan Bardell:
“One of the kits has kind of got a nod to a player that’s playing at the club already imo from what I’ve heard and seen”
Emi? Similar to an Argentina shirt?
Jacob Tanswell:
”in terms of revenue, it’s a respectable increase like I say, it’s not the huge type of money that some of the(?) things have been briefing”
"Another One!" Embroidered on the back?

The 1874 is the perfect example of why fan votes or listening to fan submissions about elements doesn't work.
The club ask people if they want 1874 on the badge, they say yes, and it gets shoehorned in awkwardly and doesn't fit with the rest of the design. I don't love the star either, but I can at least see how it fits on the badge. The 1874 takes up valuable real estate while also blending in way too much. The lion would fit much more naturally on the badge if the 1874 was removed. But we have to have it because of "fan consultation".
True, though, 1874 topped off our round badge really nicely I felt. But yeah, it doesn't work so well on their shield so they should have just got rid of it like they did claret lion etc.

Good to see some facts in this thread and that we aren't on board with the 'post truth' turn we seem to be going in.

You don't spend money on something you will be demolishing in 2 years time.
Clear indicators are that Heck wants the Chelsea strategy -Go for as much premium as you can in the exusting stadium - which is the wrong strategy for this club. As with his badge fairytales today in the marketing magazine, people linked to we already got the BS out of the way last December.
