Everyone must be happy and content today, this thread was on the second page.

    Anyway...

When you try a password reset and they email you a link, but that email doesn't arrive straight away! I want to reset my **** password now, not in two hours!!

I got a new laptop 2 months ago and being a genius I  came up with the brilliant plan of having different passwords for all my stuff.made them all villa related as I thought there's no way i''d forget them.course,I now can't remember any of them except for here.

Personnel come and go, if I'm still a Villa fan after last years debacle, then I doubt there is a candidate out there that would diminish my love for AVFC. I don't mean that to sound corny, but genuinely there isn't a soul left of team, owners, managers, and I doubt coaches or physios that are still there from when I started supporting... no one and nothing will change my love of my club.

I hated the McLeish appointment, not so much because of the SHA connection, but because of the boring play and absent tactics... but I still attended games, bought merchandise, called myself a Villa fan and sung VTID. And I always will.

I'd love us to get promotion this year, get a great manager and it all click and everything be great. But if it's not I'll still be here.

totally agree.i love lord ron of aston.him holding the championship trophy is my screen saver on my laptop and phone, but he was a relative failure at Norwich, man city.i thought we'd get cloughie(he thought so to as he said afterwards),luckily we chose right.if it is bruce who is to say he is not what we need.i've been watching us since 70-71 and to be truthful,i'm buggered if i'd have picked the right manager.have faith,it makes life bearable.drinking helps mind.

Richard, I don't think you have come to terms with our demise and the effect of it.

I went through all this with the likes of Tommy Docherty/ Tommy cummings in the 60/70's

We need a manager who recognises the importance of the basics and actions it.

who ever that may be......it seems to me, no one has a clue.

We are being linked with managers who are in the middle of "projects" just like our own Ron Saunders in the 70's......we have to find our own at the start of our "project"

l don't know whether Steve Bruce is right or an up and coming whipper snapper, its only when you talk/ interview them will you have any idea.

Aston Villa is only a poison chalice.....to those that are unsure of their ability.

A confident soul full of substance....will become a hero.....that I have no doubt.

We have been appointing failures, thats why we are where we are.

and so did Huddersfield, before they found their man.

lord ron of aston  was nothing to write home about until he joined us.(cloughie said he thought he'd got the job as he'd been interviewed).if it's brucie then give the bloke a break.were a championship club(lower half).whoever it is then cut the guy some slack.

My first match was in the relegation season to Div 3

I only remember it being against a team in all white (Swindon/Swansea seem to come to mind)

I was 7/8yrs old at the time and can only really remember the feeling of joy of experiencing a live AV game.

I can clearly remember players of that era, whether they were in the team that first game I dont know.

    Tony Dunn

Wright Turnbull Brian Tyler Charlie Aitken

    Brian Godfrey - ?

    Rudge - Willie Anderson

    Peter Broadbent (?) Pete Simmons

    Other names spring to mind

    BARRY HOLE

    long time ago........

    he's fat,he's round and he's in the rose and crown,barry hole,barry hole.

This. 100% this. In particular,  those who stand in the door way to bars, barely outside meaning you still have to walk through their plumes of smoke. However, the one that REALLY does my head in are the ignorant words removed who smoke right outside hospital entrances ! Not including the buggers in dressing gowns, hooked up to drips or in wheelchairs as they shouldn't wander off too far. I once took a pic of a nhs notice outside an entrance to good hope thanking folk for not smoking. It was surrounded by fag ends.

    Oh the irony.

I f-ing hat it.my brothers dad in law has cancer.goes for chemo(2 lots apparently),and after the one lot goes outside and smoks a ciggie  with the drip still attached to his arm.

sorry for it being down here but I've had a few

I think the difference is the Dr has surrounded himself with football people who know what they are doing.  Lerner always seemed to employee people who were doing a job one or two levels above what they should have been.

off topic but Richard fitzgerald knew what he was on about but lerner gave into o'neill instead of giving him the boot.that's where I think he made his biggest mistake.
