I don't get the rub knob fest with either Guzan or Given. 

 

They are both very very average!

As is the vast majority of our side. Don't get me wrong, I ain't knocking one out to either of the G's, but since we are stuck with what we have got, then it's worth discussing who is better suited to play for Villa.

Also, cheeky bid for Czech in the Summer? I'm sure Jose won't mind him coming to Villa.

On the mobile site (not the app, i don't use that) when you click a thread which you have previously read, it takes you to the last read post so that you can 'continue where you left off'.

I am sure I could do this on the desktop site too, but for the life of me I can't work out how.

I know I can hit to View New Content button, but that doesn't take me to the last read post on any of threads.

I think it was extremely harsh on Guzan for him to be dropped, I don't agree with that decision at all.

Now Shay hasn't done anything quite a glaring obvious as Guzan's mistake against City, but he is not a better keeper than Guzan by a long shot.

Shay just doesn't seem to have any presence in the net, he is sketchy when it comes to corners, he barely commands his area, he gets pushed around, and he doesn't impose himself on attacking players at all.

If I was Guzan i'd be seriously pissed off with Sherwood at the moment. Shay should have just had the cup run, with Sherwood having a word in Guzan's ear telling him to get over the mistake, step it up and if he doesn't he'll be dropped.

Spurs warming up a bit now, I think they'll get a goal in the next 15 minutes.

I also think they'll concede within that time frame too.

I've got a feeling that the Saints will step up their game against us after 3 pretty dire previous games, so we'll need a couple of goals in the first half to see us take all 3 points.

I'd bring the Goose back for this one, I think Given looks far to shaky from corners/crosses and just doesn't command his area in the way that will be needed for this game.

I also don't rate Zog, but Gabby hardly brought the house down when he came on yesterday.

2-1 to the Villa with a nervy last 15/20 minutes, mathematically safe for the final game where we smash Burnley 3-0

Would be fantastic if we get at least a point at southampton meaning we can really enjoy the Burnley game full of confidence for the final

Southampton have been pretty dire in their last 3 matches, we should be going for the neck and taking 3 points.

Agreed, i'd have Guzan back in a heartbeat, and I stand by my thoughts that he shouldn't have been dropped. If we somehow manage not to concede from a corner in this match, we will against the Saints next week with Given in goal.

Agree think we would be where Stoke/West Ham are currently are in table if Sherwood was here from the start of the season with this squad based on the matches I've seen so far.

Only question I have is whether playing like this would be possible long term throughout a season we play with alot of energy naturally players will get tired.

If Timmy could keep his 50% win ratio thoughout the season, we'd finish around 6th
