I'm talking about the fact that you believe a newspaper report that said Adama is on 75k a week despite it citing no quotes or sources, but not believing the CEO who stated that wasn't true (IIRC)

I never said I believed it, I said it was widely reported. If it is indeed not true, he could be more attractive for potential buyers.

I don't understand people who believe an unsubstantiated newspaper report but then ignore the CEO's direct quotes on the issue.

Kind of a biased view don't you think?

Newspaper reports? I'm pretty sure regarding my muppet comment. that was his interview (TF) waffling on about how our shirt sales are up.

I agree.  If our strategy (such as it is) is to buy potential on 5 year contracts, develop and sell on, it is surely even beyond Villa's stupidity to sell one of the brightest talents for a loss after 1 season, whatever the wages.

This is the club that gave Bacuna a 5 year contract this year for scoring 5 less last season than the previous one. Do they even know what strategy means.

  4. I agree he hasn't been amazing but £7m for another prem club or similar sized one in France or Spain is peanuts. I would prefer him to stay but I don't think it's going to happen.

Tom Fox talks a load shite, Mr Barton got it spot on by calling him a muppet and I don't even like Joey.

Firstly, I don't think the 75k a week has ever been confirmed.

    Secondly, see above.

We'll make a lot more money by stomaching the 75k a week, playing Adama for a season in a league where he's going to look like a 16 year old playing in an under 9's match and selling him next summer than we will by getting him off the wage bill for a fraction of what we paid for him just for the sake of it.

It's widely reported though. Are any players wages confirmed?

His agent will be looking for a move for him and to be fair he'll probably get a better offer than staying with us, might not be for as much money a week but it will be a fairly decent club.

    I also don't agree, we'll easily get back £7m.

I didn't think he was too bad at CB in the early weeks but he's mirrored our form big time and has got more hopeless by the weeks, his positional sense has been as bad as I thought it would be and what I remember from when he played there at City and Dunne had to bail him out time and again.

If he has to play it has to be at RB. Him there, Adama also starting out wide and suddenly our team has a bit more pace in wide areas and looks more threatening.

Loving the copy and paste SoccerHQ.

  7. We tried Richards at CB and it's been a resounding fail. If we keep persisting with it, we'll just continue to lose and get the occasional draw here and there till May.

He is one of the main reasons why we consistently don't pick up any points when he plays. Captain? Do me a f**king favour!

  8. We do nothing but stink out the league. It's just a shame that it will be us supporters in the Championship and not most of these players.

Garde is also beginning to annoy the hell out of me already, with his extremely poor line-ups, tactics, subs, results..............pretty much everything.

Is that something you just made up?? what "majority" of fans would want gabby back in the side? I have seen nothing of the sort to suggest that

Well his IG with 39k followers would be a good place to look. Not just there though, if you think the majority of fans worldwide are anti Gabby than in favour of him, you're pretty delusional. The guy is Villa through and through, didn't you know.

Anyway this isn't the Gabby thread, so I won't be replying any further about him here.

    Obviously.

But I imagine it's the opinion of the vast majority of fans. And the manager. And the players.

The vast majority of fans think Gabby is a legend and would have him in the team, regardless of how poor he's been for years. What's your point exactly.
