Getting nervous now

Without getting carried away we've looked quite good.. we're getting players in the box and defending well! Cissokho looks a great signing so far

We're passing in triangles!

Manchester United

When everyone's back in the picture, I wouldn't say so no.
We've now got a proper CDM in Sanchez, a decent box-to-box midfielder in Delph, a couple of tidy wingers in N'Zogbia and Grealish, a proven goalscorer in Benteke, a pretty capable back four and a good keeper in Guzan

doesn't it look like the kid has "Keane" on his shirt? So it's a recent shirt, too. He's staying. He's loyal. (until something changes of course)
Probably says Shane which is his kid's name

Quite worried that United aren't getting these CBs that they're after and they'll probably have to make do with Ron on deadline day or something

Great news, if it was 2004. Guess that pun has been used up already in this thread.
He is old and brings a lot of experience, which is great - but his talent is gone and he is injured all the time. The worst thing is probably that he will the signing for this position this summer, and he will with 95% certainty sit on the bench or occupy the treatment table.
Besides, two year contract for Joe Cole? Haven't we looked at prior mistakes? Robert Pires all over again... Who's next then? Morten Gamst Pedersen ane John Arne Riise?
That is nowhere near what a pun is

I really don't think Lerner has no one interested in the club like the papers are reporting. If that was the case then why the hesitation around Lambert? Pre-season starts in about 6 weeks, Lerner can't expect to sell the club in 6 weeks from now if there's no interest in it. That would be a pretty fast takeover. If there is no interest, surely Lambert would be offered a new contract and it would be business as usual, which makes Lerner's statement look even more ridiculous.
Lambert has another year on his contract doesn't he? There's no rush to offer him a new one especially under these circumstances. If Lerner can't find a buyer he at least has a manager who has shown he can keep us in the PL on a pittance, but if we do get relegated he won't have to pay him off when sacking him.
If he's got 1 year left on his contract and he gets us relegated he won't need to sack him because his contract would be up

My mate who works as an auditor for Delloite in London (He's a baggies fan but not really that interested in football) just text me saying 'apparently someone Ronald Pearlman is buying Villa'.
Googled the name and I think he must have meant a chap called Ronald Perelman, lives in New York apparently.
Haven't a foggiest if this is true or complete crap but he said someone at work told him. Not ITK don't think he knows what he's on about tbh
Ron Perlman....

Thought this was interesting

This has most likely been posted before but here's one of his CL games against Chelsea
I know it's a bit silly to judge a player off one game but he did look very good

Would anyone be against Dr. Dre buying us?

Bowery will score.
You weren't wrong

Paul Lambert says Aston Villa need to start spending big to avoid their seemingly constant battles to avoid relegation from the Premier League.
Villa head into the final two weeks of the season three points above the bottom three, albeit with a game in hand on all three teams in the relegation zone.
Lambert has been able to spend on a limited basis in the last couple of summers, with Christian Benteke proving a very shrewd signing in 2012, but he is looking to make a big splash this summer if given the money to do so.
The Scot has been linked with moves for Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez, Manchester City defender Joleon Lescott and Tottenham midfielder Lewis Holtby and he said: "I think a football club of this size needs that calibre of player.
"It's not acceptable for this club to keep doing this, it's been four years of battling against relegation. It's too big a football club to do this. That's the reality. I think everybody knows that."Paul Lambert
"I'm not just talking about those three lads because it would be wrong for me to talk about them but we need that level of player for the size of this club, wherever they come from.
"This club needs big players.
"It's not acceptable for this club to keep doing this, it's been four years of battling against relegation. It's too big a football club to do this. That's the reality. I think everybody knows that."
But Lambert admits he has no idea what kind of budget he will have to spend on his squad this summer, as rumours continue to swirl about Randy Lerner's long-term commitment to the club.
He added: "The chairman will come out and say what he's got to say in May time, I think. I don't know what he's going to say and that's me being totally honest with you.
"This football club, with the tradition and history it's got, should not be fluctuating like this. You are where you are.
"The chairman will come out and be honest with everybody. It's his football club and I don't think anyone can ever be critical of what he's done for this club. There's no way anyone could do that and I'm pretty sure he'll say what he's got to say.
"I'm not breaking ranks. I'm just saying that a club this size needs to be up there (competing).
"I know the situation and Randy will say what he's got to say. I think he's been fair with everybody about exactly what's happened and he'll (speak) when the time's right."
