Does it ultimately matter if we get some rich owners though? Isn't FFP going to prevent clubs from spending more than their income?

Bingo! ... if the club doesn't find some extra income, FFP won't allow unlimited spending. The days, where a club (like Chelsea FC) could spend, spend, spend and lose £650 mill over a 10 year period in order to 'build a team', is long gone.

The big clubs' wage bill is near £200 mill a year. Our total revenue is just above £80 mill. Sure a sponsorship with Orcale worth £200 mill a year would help, but UEFA wouldn't look kindly on that.

The rules are easily circumvented. FFP is a farce.

If you say so and who am I to argue.

City and PSG though are both in UEFA spotlight due to fantom sponsorship deals.

  3. Will we be the new FC Holywood? ...

Two trusted Lambert lieutenants out, but Lambert's job is not threatened? Hmmmm. Right. Ok. If you say so.

Cowans in is understandable. But Shay Given?!?! Is that another Shay Given than the uber expensive goalie in the Bomb Squad, we've tried to off load for a couple of years now?

In another Telegraph article it says, we're cutting life support to dead woods : Luna, Sylla, Bowery, Helenius and Tonev.

Those 5 might be bought cheap and are all on cheap (for PL standard) wages, but we could have had 1 good player for the same money instead of those 5.

" Manager Paul Lambert sought to play down relegation fears after the loss.

"There's loads of teams and loads of games still to play," he said. "

This for me is a problem. Lambert appears to refuse to accept how serious the situation is.

And if he doesn't understand or wants to understand, how can he then communicate it to the players.

We don't need this "all will be well" attitude. We need fighting for every single ball, every single second of a game.

You do understand that there is a public message and a private message and that they may be different to each other

Yes, I do actually understand that. But there is no named player targetted in admitting, we are in deep, knee high sh1t ...  and the club's CEO has voiced grave concerns, so why would Lambert need to continue his 'we go again" and 'all will be well" charade?

At this junction, to me he is sending the message that he is an austrich and his head is deep into the sand.

Is an Austrich some sort of German speaking bird with long legs?  :D

    corrected. whatever.
