17th at best. If we are lucky. Why Sherwood didn't bring on some fresh legs in midfield and defense, when up 2-0? I guess that's why he makes the big bucks and I sit in my arm chair. *sighs* ... whatever.
-
No disrespect to Sunderland, but a draw against them at home is two points lost. Amavi against CP and now Clark against Sunderland
But maybe we can still finish 17th. *sighs*
-
Only 3 games into the new season and I am already just hoping we can somehow avoid relegation and that maybe, somehow, hopefully, next season will be better. *sighs* ... Life as a Villa-fan.

Go Viiiillllllllaaaaa. I have nothing else to say.

Unbelievable. A 180 and then another 180. What a so and so.
-
Hoping for a point. Expecting an easy City win. 3 x 0-3 in a row for us?
-
If we can keep the deficit at one, maybe there'll be a chance to steal a point.
Annoyingly sloppy and lucky goal for Chelsea, but *sighs* so is that.
Despite the above, I think we've defended well.

That dream didn't last long ...

It is what it is. Vlaar, Benteke and Kozak are injured.
I cannot myself see a single surprise in the line-up. Okore isn't good enough, imho.
UTV and 1-0 Villa (I hope), but it's probably more 8-0 Chelsea. Whatever, I can dream a half an hour more.

AndyM3000,
my 'quote' doesn't work, but I agree with what you say. It's a loan deal with an irrelevant option-to-buy, as the player will reject the personal terms offered anyway. Hence the accepted bid now, but the deal a loan deal.
One could argue it buys us some time to find a more 'permanent' option, which is of course a plus. And if Cleverley is using Villa as a shopping window, he'd be willing to put in the hard work.
But I think there is very little chance Cleverley is a Villa-player 12 month from now.
-
A player who didn't want to be a Villa-player in the first place is killing 6 or 12 month at VP.
Not ideal, imho and not the sort of player, we should be pursuing. IMHO.
-
If that Twitter rumour is true, what a scum way of doing business ... bidding for one of (or THE) key players so close before the window closes.
-
Young Graelish really shows maturity beyond his years. Think I'll better jump on that band waggon.
Poor nervy 2nd half, but 7 points from 9 .... can't fault that.
-
Injury to Vlaar ... At least there's an international break coming up.
-
Oh DB19 ,,, it was there for the win
-
Panic stations. All aboard! .. can't believe we might throw those 3 nice points away
-
Thanks, Brad ... that was 2-2 right there.

Must admit, I'm not terribly bothered. I'd rather have 3 extra points than a cup run.
Come spring next year and we're likely in a relegation scrap again, a cup run is just a distraction.
Suuuuure a game or two more in the League Cup wouldn't kill us, but a deep run wouldn't benefit our position come spring next year, imho.

Last season Stoke and Newcastle did the double on us. This season we have 4 points from playing them once each.
I really do try to be disappointed that we didn't win today, but I just can't.
Another clean sheet and 4 points in the bank. Yep, I'll take that
Hutton MOTM.

Still rolling on a bit of a high
Voted Senderos as MOTM. Mainly as when we signed him, pretty much everyone was moaning and complaining, but he performed! Remember that, when he has a bad game in the future.
All in back 4 were great. Sokho brilliant.
Disappointed with : Guzan (looked iffy), Gabby (I've given up) and N'zog (running straight into nearest defender).

5 min of extra time?!?! Where did that come from?
-
Bacuna ..... (aka Tonev in disguise)
-
20 min to go and there comes Crouch. Didn't he score in both games against us last season?
