Top lad, gave all the supporters autograph then asked me and three other boys if we were coming for Wednesday night game. They answered no and he laughed and said "excuses excuses, how about you mate?" (Asking me) and when I told him that I'm from Sweden he kept making fun of the team he scored that wonder goal against back in time! Top top lad, honored to meet him!

Haha laughed for a long time when a parent behind me thought Bent was injured because of his way of walking.

Thank you everyone! As soon as I got off the taxi and saw the Holte End entrance I just stood there smiling like a fool, I love this club and I know better times (even if it takes som time) are coming! Up the villa and thank you once more for this opportunity!
Cheers for the support in this thread as well!

He played well today, what I liked about him was his coolness and not the typical Villa way of sorting our problems (which is getting rid of the ball as soon as we get it). He got control on the ball, looked up and often found a pass instead of hoofing it up!

Praised him and said I was happy to have him at the club. Replied "we shall see if you still think so after our first loss". He scared me but still a legend!

Begged him to not leave Villa for Southampton or any other team and he replied by laughing and saying "no I won't". Top lad.

After my long trip from Sweden I finally got here! I was looking forward to my first visit at the Holte End and boy was it great!
Have to be one of the greatest days in my life! Singing all the Villa songs, calling the referee a wan*** and just enjoying the atmosphere! As if that wasn't enough, managed to fill my autograph book with every players autograph (besides Zog who raced out from the parking) and get to meet Fabian Delph, my favorite player! Thank you Aston Villa and every player for this great experience, till next time!

On my way to Birmingham right now, landed at Schipol Airport now in Amsterdam, have to be the biggest airport I've ever been to.
Very odd that Britians second largest city doesn't have any direct flights to Stockholm..
I'll be going to Villa Park early and I will sing (even though my accent is utterly sh**) until I have no voice left. Up the villa, make me proud tomorrow lads. Hoping for a great atmosphere!!

I want Holtby at the club very badly, I know for 100% that he would fit perfectly in our squad. I've been following him since his move to Spuds and even though he never got the chance from the two ex managers his always been performing well when he came on or started. Had a great partnership with Defoe and with a player like Weimann and Gabby running down the wings with Benteke upfront he would find key passes all the time!
Didnt impress me much at Fulham.
The funny thing with him at Fulham was that he was the only player actually fighting and caring. He got frustrated and showed much more caring for the club then the players in it did. Of course he didn't look good when more then half of the Fulham club had given up hope for survival. He did lift the quality in their midfield though no doubt. Holtby has been excellent in Spuds pre-season matches and the majority of the Tottenham fans want him to stay at the club!

Why are we wasting £1.5m a year on Lambert
Haha i would gladly take the job and work for free at the same time as my studies. Some kind of hobby I guess!

To be fair do you think any of you could play for Birmingham??? I think I'm a fairly level headed bloke, late 30's, work in a global company at senior management level and standard family life but I don't think I could play for them. Obviously if my only source of income anywhere and it's my family's only way of living then obviously but that is an extreme.
Under normal circumstances like this guy whose coming through and probably believes he could play at a higher level then I'm not sure I could play for the rival team. Growing up it was ingrained into me to dislike the Blose and that emotion stays with you. I don't care about their results anymore, don't care what league they are in, enjoy the derbies when we do occasionally play them but never really pay much interest in them but playing for them would be a big no no for me.
What about others? could you play for Blose? or I know other Villa fans have more of a rivalry with West Brom or Wolves, so the question is if you had the ability and played football at a high level could you play for the rivals of your childhood team.
Even though I love Villa, my answer would be yes. Being professional means acting like one as well and football player play football for their living. It's their job. Just like referees. Everybody support a team but cannot underperform because of the fact that they aren't playing for their favorite club?
I'm from a small town in Stockholm named Sollentuna. We had three teams before. Two of them joined together and became one club instead. I was in one of those clubs. First two-three weeks was like an audition to stay in the team so the rivalry between us was a lot even though we would end up playing together. Not because everybody wanted to get past the audition, it was mainly because of old derby feelings between the clubs.
This story is about boys in the age of 18-25 and 26. The club is now up and running and all those feelings are gone. Two teams that hated each other are now playing together and going up to a higher divison.
This is about young unprofessionals, if we managed to play with people we "hated" (of footballing reasons) then professionals can do it with ease. So my answer to your question would be yes, I could imagine playing for the blues if that was for the better of my career but I would never change my mind and love for the Villa. I would be playing football as a professional for them and support Villa when outside the pitch!

I think Pochettino likes Holtby, been playing a lot both in pre season and played in their first match this season. I love to see him here as he has a eye for that killer pass and literally works his socks of every game. Becomes fan favorite pretty fast as well, mostly because of his passion for the game and the way he performs!

Played further up the pitch today, can see him even further up and more often when Sanchez comes in to the lineup!

I think he does everything right except for his corners, they are simply awful..
When was the last time we had a good constant corner kick taker? Tonev looked good in the Malaga pre season game then suddenly became sh** and Albrighton is gone now..
