They are all beatable over 2 legs. We may not have the sprinkling of stardust that Bosnia or Sweden have, but they have poor enough teams beside Dzeko/Ibra. Hungary are definitely beatable, wouldn't fancy going to Kiev in the winter time.

Those teams are far preferable to Holland, Turkey or Croatia.

Tonight's results not bad from an Ireland perspective. Ukraine the only potential tricky seed given we've never played them.

It's ok, we all have our pet peeves about how international football operates. For me it's allowing little fake countries into the qualifying groups

Missus' birthday yesterday, went to the Munster Final, drinking since about 9 o'clock, having a great day, now my girlfriend has a lot of friends from college that she doesn't really see, so obviously I wanted her to spend as much time with them as possible as they were down for the game. Plan was there was a bus home booked for 7pm, now around half 5 every thing is going well and people are saying oh we'll skip the bus, I'm kind of half thinking "ah shit, work in the morning and been drinking all day".

 

So 7 comes and goes, she's getting fairly tipsy, and honestly it is refreshing to see as she doesn't go out much, because she's paying a tonne of money for a course and doesn't really have it to go out, times ticking on next thing I know it's half 8 and no one wants to go home, she's fairly pissed drunk now at this stage now I don't mind that in the slightest, look its her birthday and she should have a good time. Another hour ticks on and she's properly hammered, we bumped into a few of my friends she's taking their pints of cider and downed them, her friends have kind of disappeared at this stage and the bouncer has told me she's not getting in again, fine so I decide to take her home. 

 

Now this is ten o'clock, no taxi driver wants to take a pissed girl on a 30mins spin to Tralee, at this stage she's asking me why do I hate her, she gets desperate fear when she's drunk and even text one of her friends asking does she hate her. I explain that I couldn't possibly, but I am very annoyed at the state she has got herself into. Luckily I bump into one of my friends, and I say to him I can't even stop and talk to him cos she's so bad, he rings me ten mins later saying he's going home and will give us a spin but traffic is brutal and he'll be about 20mins to get over where we are. At this stage she's calling me every name under the sun.

 

Waiting 30mins for my friend, picks us up and she's calling me everything imaginable, have to stop for her to get sick on the way in twice, and just when we are almost home she gets sick over the back seat, and it's his girlfriend's car. He's absolutely sound about it, and it's I imagine a pretty awkward situation for him. Get her home at 11:30 her dad is at the door, her sister comes out and helps me bring her, everyone is saying to her how did she get so bad. Her mom is in bed, her brother and sister are up, she tells her dad who is absolutely horrified at the state she is in, to **** off twice, along with her brother & sister.

 

She text me this morning being like I'm sorry but I'm not really in the form for her, anytime we've had a fight in the past (we've had like 4 proper proper fights and 3 have been because of her being a word removed when shes drunk), I forgive her more or less immediately because she'll be bawling crying and she's the kindest person in the world when shes not hammered & I can't really stay mad at her. My mom & dad used fight a load when I was really young & I used like hide in the hot press, but my real like worry is what would have happened had I gone home at 7 and left her there you know? What would be the recommended course of action do ye guys think?

Not optimistic for today, Strachan has Scotland miles ahead of our lot. A typical Ireland 1-1 win won't be enough.

Wow so Fifa just bought off Ireland even though Ireland were clearly screwed. I don't think Ireland had much ground to complain though. Yes it was the wrong call, but refs make mistakes and unfortunately, Ireland was on the wrong end of one error. 

The only appropriate compensation would have been Henry's severed hand hanging off the Spire. In lieu of that, 5 million is alright.

Obviously I'd like to see the boy stay with Ireland, and going by his comments last month I think he'll stay with us, but if he fulfills his potential and stars for Villa then there's no hard feelings if he nails his colours to the England mast.
