Bannan was at Perry Barr dogs last friday, He was asked about his future at the club, he said he doesn't have one. 

Confirmed he's training with Stevens, Bent, Hutton, Ireland, Given and Delfouneso.  Says the Blackburn move is dead and that was the only team to show any firm interest. Expects to be at Villa till January at least.

 

I'm a big fan, but has he always had such leaky defences at his other clubs?

 

I was wondering that.  Dortmund appear to have a decent defence, so that part of the comparison doesn't hold up either.

 

Dortmund do struggle to keep clean sheets as well though, while both Hummels and Schmelzer are prone to brain farts. 

I like the comparison to Kagawa, certainly can see it in his movement with the ball, Early days tho.

I've never known a Villa player take an inswinging corner with either foot, in fact i struggle to think of any player at all who tried it.  His inswingers with his left didn't seem very good though.

I think its on the cards already for Bennent's demise, even if Luna performs as badly as him. 

Luna is already a fan favourite because of the beard and Joseph Bennett looks like an X-Factor contestant, who's not quite good enough to sing on they're own so they get pushed into becoming a group with some fellow rejects.

I don't anything about him , could he possibly have been a target for the creative midfielder role?

I'm English through and through, but I'm more than happy for Jack to play for Ireland. Lets face it, England players usually only get called up if they play for certain clubs. Given the slightly more limited talent pool Ireland has, he stands a much better chance of making it.

Then think of all the Irish lads we have at decelopment level, that will certainly help him too when he goes away with Ireland and allow him to play his natural game.

As for going out on loan, currently I don't see any need for Jack to go out, he's on an upward curve in his development, doesn't need to catch up with any fitness (like Gardner) or he has gone stale like Bannan/Delfouneso.

Sums up our 'bomb' squad, all of them are happier to collect a wage here than go out an earn one at another club.  Good Riddence.

oh and can we just merge the threads of Bannan, Bent, Hutton etc. and have a bomb squad thread?

I actually love Jack now, he's like our very own Alan Partridge.

I'm royally pissed off that they've got ESPN, i can't see my self paying for yet another sports add on though, on top of my £50 quid a month Virgin Media deal.

I think both Clark and Vlaar are under real pressure to perform this season, they were by far our most experience CB's last season and performed averagely at best.  Admittedly for most of the season they got **** all protection from the midfield.

I really hope he goes to Madrid, if only so sky sports have one less player to jizz over.

you have to say well done to the kid, 17 years old and pulling up tree's to come through the ranks, if he gets a squad number it'll be a good signal of what Lambert thinks of him.

Do we not have a Spurs thread anymore, or was it closed in reaction to they're interest in Benteke?

I can see us being lumbered with the likes of Bent/Ireland/Hutton/Bannan until contracts run done.

I dont' think it's a coincidence that our form improved when Sylla came into the team and Bannan was sidelined.

the think is, i can't see Lowton asking to leave, i just think we'll have a top side come in for him and by top, i mean United/Man City.  Not your Arsenal/Spurzzz.

Huge season for Delph coming up, he must be near the end of his contract? a year left? 

He's got some real competition for his place but he started to show that he has enough quality at this level after a torrid time with injuries.

Goodness, If i were Benteke and i'd been told by Spurs to hand in a transfer request (speculation i know) and then they don't bid for me i'd be damn pissed at Spurs!

Most sensible people would feel like this too,  I hope we keep Benteke, he has a storming season again and we sell him to PSG/Real for £40m.  he's damaged that bond he had but i wouldn't boo him, don't think i've ever boo'd a player in a villa shirt.  Not even Hutton/Ireland.

Dave Armitage of the daily star, suggests that Lambert fears fans will turn on him over his treatment to Benteke. Absolute BS. I think most fans will back Lambo to sort this mess out.
