He has a good range of passing for all the talk about his long balls it's the best part of his game
Against a low block he will do the business. He's a high risk passer that needs time and space.
Against the other 14 odd teams in the league he's bang average because he can't or refuses to get on the ball in tight spaces, is slow , ponderous and has the agility of a brick.
Though his arse did look less pronounced yesterday. Body fat or muscle he looks leaner either way.
We all know that he isn't the most clinical finisher, nor the most technically gifted footballer in the world. But tbh the real noticeable change in his game indicating a loss of form was that he was struggling to do all the unselfish parts of a strikers role - I thought he did that side of the game brilliantly yesterday, running the channels, holding the ball up and bringing others into play. Agree with the poster above who stated we are better team when he plays
It's a massive blow to how we want to play and we'll be massively exposed against the top sides as we will struggle to build from the back now as we've no press resistant ball playing CBs other than Carlos
Looked sharp. Could have had 2 assists tbf. One where Oli took it wide and the 2nd where he just tried a bit too hard to make sure and beat the final man for a tap in.
