They'd have won that sort of game 1-0 last season so think that's a difference for a start.

If you look back at start of 15/16 we were only losing games by one goal but we chucked away so many "easy" home games under Sherwood and that really cost us once Garde came in.

    0-1 v Man. United

    2-2 v Sunderland

    0-1 v West Brom

    0-1 v Stoke

    1-2 v Swansea

Garde lost his first home game 2-3 at home to Watford.

Considering Everton win two away games a season on average they can't afford to be chucking away game after game at Goodison. Arsenal next for them although ironically they won that last season.

I disagree. We didn't even create this many chances in games last season. At least now we are creating chances, just not putting them away at the moment...

Another nail in Dyche Everton coffin, i see some fans are restless and want him gone already. Has apparently frozen Gray out who looks a danger when he plays compare to crap like Maupay

He isnt doing that much better than Lampard

Gray is someone who can you win you a match from nothing but only does it every 10 games or so, most of the rest of the time he isn't reliable enough. McNeil isn't a quick but a superior team player and more reliable end product.

If they move into their new ground in April and get relegated in May, it will be funny.

Not ready til middle of next season so maybe you get your wish but in 2025 not 2024...

Watching these highlights it’s amazing they didn’t score yesterday. Looks like a real smash and grab from Wolves. They were unlucky against Fulham as well.

If they get a striker to put away some of these chances they will probably have enough to stay up.

We didn't play badly, same as against Fulham. We were the better team and got done both times by a smash and grab. We do have a lot of players (starters) out injured too. But if you can't finish your chances....

It's been a trend for as long as I remember that clubs with off field issues with one inevitably go down. I think we have enough to be okay, but I am not in control of how the players perform and the backroom stuff clearly is a distraction so it wouldn't surprise me if we do go...as I said, it's what the owners deserve - but it's the fans who ultimately suffer.

Fair play, even though I'm pretty sure Koeman won't be anywhere near the team when they move into it. With Liverpool being a small city I've still never understood why they couldn't be like the Milan clubs and ground share

Just, no. Both clubs have big histories, full of pride and iconic stadiums to them. To replace that with something that is shared with them? No.

That'll be another classic old ground consigned to to the history books and replaced with a soulless bowl

I doubt that. They deliberately have picked an architect who produces bespoke designs, individual to the organisation. The lead designer has been over from the States on numerous occasions, even way back to 2015 (pre-Moshiri) - he has also interacted with fans via social media regularly... he's basically said he wants to use Goodison's best points in his design and seems intent on steep, intimate seating. He's taking on board fan comments and Everton have stated there will likely be a consultation phase with fans based on what they want.

Yep exactly. Moshiri works for Usmanov, it's Usmanov's company who is sponsoring the training ground and it is somewhat unclear where Moshiri's money comes from other than Usmanov.

It will be interesting to see what happens with Usmanov's Arsenal shareholding especially should they drop out of the CL.

Well, Usmanov bought Moshiri's shares in Arsenal prior to him investing. Latest Forbes figures have Moshiri's worth circa 2.5 billion. (Up by around a billion from when he first invested...) Not much these days but he is also qualifield chartered accountant and worked high up in some big global corporations. He knows his stuff and has brought knowledgable people in to the club to help him. He knows lots of financial loopholes, etc. He now has multiple investments alongside Usmanov in big brands like Uber, Spotify and Airbnb. Also an investor in one of the biggest Steel producing firms in Russia - may help lower stadium costs :)  Usmanov may be involved indirectly but we will never know fully the extent until he leaves Arsenal.

How big is the stadium going to be? Will they be able to fill a 60k stadium?

hopefully be better than that crappy stadium west ham are in

    I think 55-60k. Hopefully 60.

We had a record number of season ticket sales this season, we've sold out every league game home and away, and when renewals opened at the end of January, Everton opened up a waiting list for season tickets that has reached 8k long in that time...1/4 of our season ticket holders are u22 as well which bodes well for the future.

There is a real buzz about the place at the moment. 60k is both achievable and imo realistic...32k season tickets this season + 8k waiting list (at present!), 4-5k corporate, 3k away fans then walk ups...

Pretty sure every new ground has seen a big spike in attendance at first, up to us to perform on the pitch to keep them coming back and that is Moshiri's aim.

Despite supposedly not doing well this season they are still 7th... I'd be happy to take that

After how far backwards we went, and the budgets of those ahead....I'd say this too. Par for where I think we should be right now, hopefully we can challenge more over the next few years.

I thought everton had "100m" to spend? i seriously thought everton would be targeting better players than gueye. would have expected someone like Bournemouth or Swansea to come into him not everton

Just cos we have money doesn't mean we should just go and wildly spend it. Still have to be sensible with FFP and seems it is Steve Walsh's first involvement.

  8. I'll wait and see him on the pitch before I pass judgement. Seems that his main attributes are what we've been lacking though....energy, pressing and winning the ball back....

can't complain at the price either given some deals this summer!

Everton will always be Everton, they will always be a mid table club at best and never ever challenge for European football in the near future. Honestly it must be tough being an Everton fan, always being second fiddle to their older brother Lpool.

    We'll see.

If you have got all that money who's coming? Who's getting you 6/7 places up the table?

Well for one, the quality in that squad is good enough for top 7/8 anyway - if they have a manager who uses them correctly.

I'm not privvy to who our transfer targets will be though, sorry.

Who by ? a 12 year old kid on his computer ... Even if you had that sort of money who are you going to buy ?

Local press/reliable journalists on Everton information.

Moshiri wants to invest heavily in the club and has promised to do so. The reason he left Arsenal (and the reason Usmanov is considering leaving too) is that they wanted to invest money and build but Stan Kroenke wouldn't allow it.

Besides, that isn't *that* much now considering the new tv money etc.

We've already topped our record season ticket sales too so....

So, Koeman is now odds on to join Everton.

One can only assume there will be significant funds for him to build a team.

If he does go, can Southampton get their managerial appointment right once more?

£100-150m plus sales is the rumoured budget...

You all will definitely have money to spend, especially if Lukaku is sold, he'll go for 40m+!

Mirallas will want to leave, he's to good for Everton, along with Deulofeu. They should go some where else in Europe.

    Hmm.

Don't think Mirallas or Deulofeu will leave unless they are not in the new manager's plans.

  14. Regards to our squad:

GKs - Howard is gone. Robles is average, then it's kids.

DF - Jags. Funes Mori. Both sound. Stones will probably go (depending on managerial situation). Hibbert will likely go. Oviedo has stunk the place out lately but he has been played out of position so benefit of the doubt. Baines has played with an injury all season and Coleman has been horribly off form. We have Garbutt coming back off a loan from Fulham but I suspect he could be sold. We then have Galloway (LB/CB), Pennington (CB/RB), Browning (CB/RB), Connolly (RB/LB) and Holgate (RB/CB) all highly rated and being brought through.

MFs - Osman, Pienaar and Gibson will probs be released. Barry/McCarthy/Besic and Barkley all good generally( all had poor seasons - Barry apart!). Cleverley has done ok as well. Out wide - Mirallas will be overjoyed at Martinez going so likely will want to stay now. Deulofeu is class. Lennon done pretty well, can be very good! McGeady will go. We have some good kids coming through, in particular Kieran Dowell (AM), Tom Davies, Liam Walsh and Ryan Ledson (all CM)

ST - Kone will go. Lukaku probably will if someone pays the stupid price (most likely PSG) - he winds me up, has so much talent but plays for himself. Niasse, I find it hard to judge him considering the team he has come into but we'll see. We've also got Shani Tarashaj coming in from Grasshoppers who we beat off a lot of European competition for.

New major shareholder has promised a significant transfer budget pre sales, so be interesting to see what goes on.

We definitely went for him twice, the first time may have been after houllier & the second time after mcleish

have to wonder why Everton sacked him now, why not just wait until Monday?

The atmosphere would have been poisonous beyond belief if he stayed on til Sunday.

Sad he's gone as he is a genuinely lovely guy who just wanted to make Everton great again but it wasn't meant to be.
