I think it would take a £40m bid to tempt Lerner. Then again even that may get rejected if Lambert says no.
I can't see Lerner wanting to upset the manager, the very last thing the club needs is another change of manager. We need stability.

Blimey ! See you there.

Is that Wycombe ?

Agree with that. £35-40m cash in one transaction would be hard to turn down, ideally we won't have this problem for another 12 months though. The Chelsea rumours are a bit worrying. They have the cash and may buy him just to prevent anyone else getting him. Chelsea spent £80m last summer without even blinking.
If they did want him, at least we know they will meet our valuation rather than trying to give us some part exchange petty bid.

That Fulham kit is poor, really liked their kappa kit last season especially the black and gold one

Hopefully we'll get a mini bidding war

Don't the players show up as assets on the balance sheet ? My point was, there's huge depreciation which will be factored into this years accounts if we end up selling Bent for say £6m
ummmmmmm well .... none of those purchases were in this calender year or financial year. Or the year before that. So .......... it's not really going to effect this years' accounts at all in a negative way. Also, Given was free (0), Ireland was part of the Miler deal so he didn't actually cost us a fee (0), Hutton was 4mil and Bent was 18-24, so that's 28 mil max.Selling him for £6m will leave another massive dent in this years accounts, same with giving Ireland Hutton and Given away. In total signed for something like £40m and it looks like we'll be lucky to get £8m back for all 4 of them.
I agree with the point you are trying to make however.

Betting suspended on Luis Suarez going to Arsenal. Would surely put any rumour of Benteke going there to bed.
Yep, but standby for the Benteke to Lpool rumours.
-
Shouldn't the club just put out a not for sale statement ?
-
I'd rather play Carruthers Burke or even Albrighton than having to pay a fee to sign Dawkins. No disrespect to him but I don't think he improves us at all.
-
I don't think I could take seeing him in a Tottingham kit.
-
Are players and agents actually that bothered about World Cups / internationals anymore ? Or has watching the English national side distorted my view.

To think a mere 12 months ago, Lambert made Bent Captain of the playing squad. That didn't last long, I really think something went on behind the scenes that left Bent a marked man.

Johnny Foxes in the hills outside Dublin is a wonderful pub. Great beer and seafood.

The other half.
Get taken hostage by Al Quaida or Somali pirates

Cut them.
Have sex with The Corrs (all or nothing).

I think it will be harder for Benteke next season in the sense that he's not a surprise package anymore and he will be given special attention by opposition defenders - either 2 men on him all the time or constantly fouled , manhandled etc etc. , this could of course open up more space and chances for the likes of Gabby and Weimann.
-
He may have been there, perhaps just not photographed? The official photos seem to focus on the new lads particularly Bacuna .
-
If its £6-8m someone's getting a bargain.

Seems like BS to me.
