OK this VAR ref is incompetent or bent

barnes was off

not at all happy with this match. but I love the creative and thoughtful commitment from Emory to bring on Carlos, go three at the back whihc pushes up both Digne and Cash. I like it that the manager doesn't give up. That has to translate to the players (eventually)
-
Vills platers that have done well today. Torres. Diaby. That is all.
-
Finally Gordan. should have been caution for persistent, but the foul deserved a caution on it's own.
-
-
i can see Chambers or Carlos in for Cash and go basically a back three.

Not you. I mean in general loads of people wrote him off as a flop
depending on how you are using the word "flop" they are right.

Jaden should come in on the left and move McGinn right, and sit Bailey

it would be interesting to see which of these two Gordon has done most. Foul or Fall over. F*ing cheat.

Season ending injury because the idiot officials can’t flag for offside
it was clearly a risk FIFA and FA were willing to take in order to increase goals. Idiots.

we're obviously not terrible, but we were asleep at the beginning and Newcastle absolutely abused that
not really strong disagreement but there were at least a dozen posts claiming wer ere terrible in so many words. secondly, i'm not sure we were asleep. I think too many were a bit trusting that another Villan would step up rather than stepping up themselves.
-
was just getting ready to post that while it wasn't great, we weren't the disaster most posters were claiming. Instead I'll post, great pass from Douglas, great cross from McGinn, great flick on from watkins (?) great finish from Diaby. we're not terrible.

Should we take bets on which of our starters gets a season-ending injury after 10 minutes?
i'll put a tenner on Gordon. oh, "our" nevermind

I think it's only for injury, or exceptional circumstances.
Said player would be withdrawn from the match day squad.
not sure if it changed, but it used to b that it counted as a sub.

is there only one british referee working this summer. We've had this same guy for 3 matches now. Maybe on the bounce in fact.

Ben Mee will end another players career soon enough.
hasn't that been done already? At least multiple season ending careers. is there a stat and record for most matches missed due to injury following contact by a single player?

Officials are just as bad as in england - good practice for the real thing
this is an english referee crew, you know that, right. Villa had an american referee crew against new castle only. normally i'm not a big fan of MLS or it's referees, but that crew did well.

People make a big deal about left-footed players as if they're so specialised, but right-footed players play on the left all the time. Equally, it's possible to have 2 left-footed players at centre back. It's rare, but only because it's statistically rare to have 2 left-footed centre backs fighting for starts in your squad. Not because lefties have some weird genetic blind spot.
didn't mean to infer that it's not possible, but it is the preferred location for both (perhaps because they believe the overgeneralization you accurately debunk) One consideration for UE, is "which one do I tell has to change his preferred and comfortable playing position - when I want them both to stay happy."
