We've not beaten any of the teams in the top six yet in a playoff scenario you see us going up. Your winging it mate.

That's my opinion, and I'm happy to be proven wrong. I don't think I'll be changing it because someone thinks I'm winging it.

Could be a real fire sale then as our best players get picked off - failure this season could take many years to recover from ☹️

You could be right, but if we are in the play offs at the end of the season, I think we will be okay. I see us going up through the playoffs, if all our players are fit.

We are having rotten luck with them at the minute.

I didn't see the game today, but the team looked unbalanced to be from the start. I don't like managers just chucking in players because they are good, we need a system that works and stick to it. I think we had that when Codger was out first time. When he came back it changed, and we haven't got it right since then.

But that was an exception for Wolves, it is not exceptional for us. Big difference.

No, they are exactly the same. Two games on form and paper both teams should have won, they didn't. Nothing to do if they are exceptions or not, the point is games don't always go the way they should. Just ask Chelsea.

LOL is we we are back to making sarky comments about those who are concerned for the future of our club under the "stewardship" of a manager who isn't good enough.

His job is to get us promoted this season, he hasn't failed yet. If he does, he will be rightly sacked.

  5. I think he had an average game yesterday, but he did his best hold up work near the halfway line. We need him 30 yards up the field and then balls played into him, chest height and down. The further he pushed up the field, the higher the ball was kicked. He lost a good percentage of the headers yesterday but held up the ball if it was played into him.

As a target man, it's all about support, he didn't get the best yesterday.

    His shooting needs to improve.

For me, Landsbury is more of a Gerrard, and Hourihane is more of a Lampard, if that makes any sense?

Obviously Costco versions but , you know what I mean.

Hourihane in for Onomah, and leave Lansbury and Whelan in behind.

Onomah's form has been terrible the past few matches. No surprise our results have dipped as well. Anyone other than Onomah would be an upgrade at the moment.

Don't disagree with that at all. I would push Hourihane forward, and bring in another mid to play alongside Whelan. Villa and Hourihane have played their best when he fed off Davis.

We're not the manager. We have no idea how fit the players really are. Based off form, we were right to say Grealish deserved the start.

What form would that be? The 89 minutes he has had during the season, where he has come on against tiring players? Jack has great skill, but to say he is in form would be a stretch. I do believe he a good alternative option to have, going into the Christmas run.

Only if we beat derby will yesterday's result not matter as much and there is no way in hell we are winnin at pride park

No way Villa or Wolves should have drawn their games yesterday, but they did. Games don't always go the way form or fans predict.

Jack has been training for a while now and featured off the bench for the past month?

Lansbury played half hour and is suddenly starting.

On reflection I think his inclusion damaged the whole team, we were wide open because he cannot bloody run. He should be played at the top of a 3 or not at all in my opinion.

Seems they have both been back in training the same amount of time.

I don't think either has done enough in the past to be starters, but are good options to have now.

  11. A couple of good cameos after being out for a decent time with a nasty rib injury. I think he should start next game, but I just hope we don't end up with the old Jack who flatters to deceive. Someone of his ability, should have shown more in the game he has played over the last few seasons. It is easier to come on as a sub and look good when the team isn't performing well, but to do it for 90 minutes, Jack hasn't shown this very often.

I still have high hopes for him and I hope he starts to show it because he could be a difference maker for the remainder of the season if he can.

  12. I only saw 45 minutes of the game yesterday, so will only post on that part.

We should have lost the game, poor finishing and great goalkeeping allowed us to hang onto a point. It was a poor performance overall and with the injuries, we picked up, wasn't a great day.

I think with the players he has at his disposal, I think Bruce picked the right team, but they didn't play well enough in the right areas of the field. I don't think Bruce's subs were the best and he should have gone like for like.

Grealish should have replaced Onomah, and Elmo should have come on for Snodgrass. I felt it made us more disjointed and pulled Albert off his favored right side.

The team is showing a great deal of resilience and Bruce is right, we would have lost this game last year. No team is always going to perform and win every game, when we don't win, we need to make sure we don't lose.

If we can get to the new year in the top 6 and in a shout of the top 2, I believe we would do well with injuries we have at present.

Yep really, think pinball, or just hitting it forward as often and as fast as you can.

It's worked, it's far from good football though, now we have a nice two goal cushion our ball allergy might make things a bit more difficult than they should be.

It's not lazy posting, I'm watching it, 3 points is great, we have been FAR from good though as a team. We have some very useful players at this level though which seeing how much money we've chucked at this league is surely the minimum you'd expect?

The second half has been controlled, with some nice passing and link up play at times. We are clearing some from the back, but it's certainly not all that.

Interested to know what team we will be playing. So Bruce will turn us into a Premiership team overnight with a few new players......Cant wait!

Some will, some won't. There will be change if we get promoted. Better players will want to come, and some players won't be good enough to stay.

Told me mate Adomah just scored a nice goal but we’ve been crap and they had a goal wrongly disallowed.

    He replied:

”We're crap every week, It's just whether we're crap and score or crap and don't score.”

The good thing is, we are scoring more than we aren't, and winning more than we are not.

I think wolves have done well this season. They played rings around us.  They won today.  Back line of 3. Two of those three and the keeper are all in their first season at wolves I believe.  Couldn’t be bothered to look upfield where we all know the center of their team is new.  Tell me again how it takes months for a championship player to learn a system of play.  It only takes one example to prove it does not.  I just gave you half a dozen.

If you read what I wrote, you will see i put "It can and it does", what I didn't say "It can and does every single time a manager brings in a new formation."

Of all those players you have mentioned, how many of them have played a similar system, or the same at another club? How many of the Wolves players have the smarts to go along with their ability? It only takes a couple of key players to not be as smart as you want them to be, then it can take the whole team and system longer to get it right.

You are always going to get teams that will click more quickly, and others that will never click (hence the number of manager changes at the same club). The industry standard is around 2-3 months that is why clubs hope to get manager early as they can preseason and long with new players. It's why a lot of managers don't like the January window, as they can lose key players and disrupt teams for quite a while before they get it right. Teams can also try to bring in better players, but disrupts a settled team (like Bruce did this last year).

I agree with you short term assessment, but I don’t see Bruce effectively doing either very well.  It does not take months to get championship level players to understand and execute a discernible system of play.

It can and it does, not just Championship players either.

  18. I'm glad he signed that new correct. He stepped up when Codger was out last time, and I feel other players in the team like playing with him as the target man.

He is good enough to be our number one striker but at the moment not consistent enough. That will come, I'm sure.

  19. Another good win. He still has us on course for a chance of promotion. Still, a long way to go.

To win, after receiving the news about our forwards this week will give the players a boost to move on and do it without them.
