  1. Someone on here has got a Newport County av haven't they? Is it nice there? They got beaches?

Newport, OC has but definitely not this Newport.

Really looking forward to this. I'm a Newport County fan but Villa have always been my club as well. I try to get to a handful of villa games a season. To see the Villa (even if only a handful of regulars) on my doorstep will be fantastic.

  2. Can't see anything past relgation for us to be honest. Our form is dire, real relegation form. I honestly can't see where our next win is going to come from. A decent signing or two in this window and the club would've had the shot in the arm we needed. Alas we've spent next to nothing on lower level players and have in my opinion resigned ourselves to relegation and are starting to prepare for the league below.

Thanks for nothing Randy. Time to sell up and hand the club to someone who is actually willing to spend a £ or two. He's blatantly got bored of it now, time to get someone with new ideas and enthusiasm in...

  3. I too hope the lad does well, but for me, this stinks of the likes of George Weah's cousin. Has Lambert actually seen him play or has he just watched the compilation on Youtube? Like I say, George Weah's cousin looked like a good prospect on a video that Graeme Souness watched before signing him!

  4. So many of this team are diabolical footballers.

Lowton/Bennett - I'd honestly rather Warnock/Hutton. Come back all is forgiven. These two are league 1 full backs at best.

    Bannan - An embarrassment

Vlaar - isn't good enough regardless of what people think. Never a premiership centre half IMO.

    Guzan - Average

NZogbia - Shows flashes but way too often gives the ball away cheaply

Clark - where is the Clark of last season?

I'm so pissed off the Lerner - why isn't he investing? This season has to be one of the most important to stay in the prem with the new TV deal coming in etc yet this season he wants to try his "experiment". Bite your pride Lerner and get your wallet out or we can look forward to trips to the likes of Doncaster Brentford and Tranmere next season..

  5. Swansea is a better night out than Cardiff imo. They Don't "hate the English" they have a massive student population with people coming from all over and never get any trouble. If you go out acting up then you will get trouble simple. If you go out and have a laugh and behave yourselves you will have a good night. It's like any City. If a group of pissed up Welsh lads came to Broad Street and started mouthing off and acting up I'm sure they get trouble. Like I said earlier stick to Wind Street and you'll have a good un :winkold:

  6. Yeah, staying at the Premier Inn on Wind St. Anyone got any more info on the nightlife ?

Swansea nightlife is very good to be fair, better than Cardiff IMO. The Premier Inn on Wind Street is as central as is actually possible I'd say. Wind Street (pronounced winde) is where most of the bars/clubs/restaurants are. Stay there and you'll have a good night, not so sure about a good nights kip though!

  7. Honestly can't see this happening. In fact, I won't believe it until Mcleish walks out for his first match at Villa Park. How this whole managerial farce has come to this is unbelievable. The board honestly seem to think that it's simply because of the Blues/Villa rivalry. Whilst that has a lot to do with it, it's certainly not the main reason. The blokes **** useless! He's been relegated twice out of three seasons with Blues in the Prem and was shite for Rangers. He won the League Cup whoopdy **** do. That was as a result of a cock up of monumental proportions. What sort of player does the board honestly think will a) want to sign for a man of this calibre & B) want to stay at a club with a man of this calibre.

If I was a Villa player I'd be getting my agent looking for a new club sharpish...

A Villa fan had a message on TS when I was in the car saying "Villa ST holder for 21 years, just spent my ST money on a holiday" Who can blame him? He's not going to be the only one that's for certain.

Randy et al will have lost a lot of respect after this pathetic hunt for a new manager. Not only with Villa supporters but with the footballing world alike.

    RANT OVER

  8. or you could look at as;

Mclaren has won more than Hughes.

    Hands up who wants Mclaren?

    No, me neither!

Suppose so. However, Mclaren has failed in numerous jobs. Would you honestly call any of Sparky's efforts above Mclaren level cock up's?

I've been watching McClaren's Dutch interview on YouTube. It hasn't lost any of its power. I dislike him more for that interview than for not qualifying with England.

We're are what yoush call underdogshhh?

  9. Mark Hughes won nothing as manager of Wales, he won nothing as manager of Man City and he won nothing as manager of Fulham and he quit his post with them after one season when they were willing to give him a job when no other club was willing to take him.

However, Ancelotti has won numerous trophies in his time as a manager at various clubs including winning the Champions League twice and he took Chelsea to double winning success in 2009/2010.

Now, if I was faced with the CV's of these two I think I know which one would impress me the most.

    or you could look at as;

Mark Hughes was one of Wales most successful managers in recent history. Narrowly missing out on qualification to the Euro's by losing to Russia in the play offs and beating a top Italy team in the process. Wales would regularly get sell out crowds at the Millennium Stadium, even against the likes of Finland & Azerbaijan a feat that has only happened twice since and that's against "The Old Enemy" England.

at Blackburn he took them to an 3 Cup Semi-final' (two FA & one League in the 3 consecutive seasons) & the Uefa Cup with a top six finish in his second season.

At Man City players were bought in above his head that he may not have even wanted, he still had them in 5th place at the time of his sacking and managed to put the foundations together for a decent team to be cemented.

At Fulham well once again he steadied the ship after Hodgson's departure and had them finishing 8th in the league.

Whilst I'd prefer to have Ancellotti his record speaks for itself. I think a few people are being a bit to snobbish about Sparky and his previous achievements. I think given time he would be a good manager for most clubs...

  10. Another talent it seems. Looked very comfortable on the ball, and showed a lot of awareness off it. Another to watch.

This. I was very impressed with him. Considering he must've been nervous with it being his first Prem game. He took it all in his stride and certainly looks promising for the future.

    Well done Nathan... 8)

  11. Well I've tried not to jump on the bandwagon of the Houllier out folk however it is becoming increasingly difficult. His squad selection was baffling today, along with the formation, he shows no passion and no ability to motivate the players. Unfortunately I think he needs time and will get at least 2 transfer windows IMO. Who on earth he is going to sign/would want to sign for us at the moment though is anyone's guess. :| We really are in a dire position...
