It was critical for what we needed but there was no trophy parade was there.....Would've been very small time.

Personally in what is realistic to win nowadays I'd rank these in order:

    1. FA cup....simply the ultimate and would be a huge achievement for any squad and manager given how abysmal our record in that competition has been for decades. Any Villa fan coming up to 70 now has seen us win the lot apart from the FA cup.

    2. Europa League. Unai's speciality and we'd have to beat some pretty good teams to win it. Also has direct CL entry so would be very useful in coming seasons when we're not in contention in the league.

    3. Historically a very important competition for us. Winners only get Europa Conference spot now so probably knocked a little.

    4. Europa Conference. The one we're currently in. Would be lovely to win of course but one we continue improving that would be forgotten reasonably quickly.

I can't imagine there would be a trophy parade now tbh. Can't see the council forking out a single penny to make it happen.

Would be interesting where a hypothetical new stadium would go. You'd ideally want it a bit closer to the City Centre if you're looking to properly have full year-round use. Obviously in, or worst case scenario, right by Aston. That's probably quite a long shot. I wonder if the council might have any suitable land in that sort of area that they'd be willing to sell.

I'm not really sure that a stadium by the NEC would work: it's not even in Birmingham, let alone Aston. Solihull Villa doesn't really have the same ring to it. And I don't think the NEC would be very enthused by the prospect of a rival all-year-round venue directly next door.

And, of course, it's all moot if Villa do actually have no intention of moving. In which case we're still at a bit of a crossroads, as Villa Park is a 1990s stadium in a situation where any attempt to modernise it has hit various, significant roadblocks.

Co partnership with NEC on live events at Villa Park. Get them to invest in the development of the stadium (helps with FFP for us) and they get a share of stadium shows, we can only do them in the summer anyway and it'd be artists too big for the arena. Birmingham currently has no stadium for live events really, we're really behind on that. It's a win win situation for Villa and the midlands.

Shame we cannot just buy the NIA and build a retractable roof / pitch  multi-use stadia… If we were in America it would be a no brainer solution… Fantasy I know !

  4. There's no doubt the facilities have gotten worse at Villa Park and I wonder if this is a strategy over a number of season to get enough fans to agree that in order to grow we need to move?

It's being discussed and it would take time to make enough fans come around to the idea.
