  1. Looking to get fit again and keep hearing about this P90X system that can be done from home and is just as beneficial as going the gym

Anyone on here who can enlighten me further on it before i splash £40 on the dvd?

  2. "Mature student" is (like "military intelligence") a contradiction in terms.

Seriously though, I have a friend who's a recently qualified radiographer. If you'd like me to put you in touch with him, PM me.

Thank you mate...How old is your friend as a recently qualified radiographer then?? Just concerend with age after graduating, cause no matter how much its tried to be glossed over, in other sectors no way is a 30 year old going to get a grad job over a 22 year old...however not sure if its the same for the healthcare sector??

  3. UPDATE: Had a 2 day experience at Dudley road hospital in the radiography department and absolutely loved it! can see it can be stressful, but seems much more stimulating then working in an office...still concerned if my chances of employment after graduation will be challenging if 30 year's old by time i finish so thats only concern i need to research further before enrolling.

  4. Truely has to be the worst year for films that I can ever remember....

HOWEVER...films of the year are between 'The Fighter' and 'Drive'

Next year should be awesome though with the hobbit, the christian bale film set in China, the dark knight rises...cant wait

  5. Watched In Time, the new Sci Fi with Justin Timberlake.

The acting is atrocious (although JT is the best of the bunch), some of the scences where cheesyand cringeworthy, but.......i kinda like this movie :?

The concept of using time rather then money was quite cool and is a bit of a guilty pleasure movie. So bad that it is actually quite good.

  6. I think there's also a means tested bursary for Student Radiographers, plus there is a national shortage of Radiographers. The current NHS cutbacks won't hold water.

Keep reading conflicting reports about shortage of radiographers, glad you think there is still a shortage.

Already have a degree in transport with a modest student debt, hopefully won't affect me from getting a bursary.

  7. I've just started graduate medicine. At the age of 24, I'm one of the youngest in the class. The average age being 26 I think with the oldest is 36. Go for it. I'm delighted with myself

Good on ya! Doesn't medicine take like 5-6 years to complete??

  8. I'd go for it. I worked in industrial radiography for a few years and would like to have taken it further, had it not been for having the biggest word removed in the world as my manager. You'll also have a job for life...

    Thats good to hear :-)

So from your knowledge is there still a need for radiographers despite the cutbacks??

  9. hmmm, disappointed with this thread.

Not what I thought I was going to get.

To answer the point, I recently sat a degree course and the really difficult parts were putting up with teenagers and knowing some lecturers weren't up to date with current industry practises.

At 27 you probs won't have the grating jarring generation gap. If you don't already 'do' radiography you won't get wound up by some info potentially ebing incorrect. Go for it, ultimate result is you'll be helping save lives.

disappointed?? did u expect to see a naked woman or something lol

  10. Previous thread i said how i wasnt liking job, so got me thinking about going back to uni to do something i might enjoy.

Was thinking Radiography...course funded by nhs so no fees, sounds intresting and I have the grades to get on course. Sure with nhs cuts course wont be funded for to much longer either.

Anyone gone back as a mature student?? Id be 27 by time i get on course, have no major bills, so money only a minor issue.

  11. Its a transport office role and honestly job is not like what they told me. Not sure whether to man up or just leave and carry on looking.

could always try to get fired like i am :D (unscucessfully at the moment)

LOL what do you do to try and get yourself fired??

Reading comments on here, just going to stick it out to I find something else. Gets the gap off my CV from travelling i guess.

  12. Left last job to go travelling, since back took me 4 months to find another but absolutely cant stand it. Is it really easier to get another job if you have one or is it easier when unemployed??

Its a transport office role and honestly job is not like what they told me. Not sure whether to man up or just leave and carry on looking.

  13. Holy ****!!! Thats gotta be up there with 'seven' for a shock ending!!! obviously it wasnt the trinity killer as it leads to the next season.wonder who it was???

  14. Watched episode 9 last night....I'll be gutted when I come to the end of this 4th series, it's definately the best one yet. Every episode is better than the previous one, superbly written and acted.

Very true. Just gets better and better. Just wish they knocked that la guardia or woteva her name is love story out.boring shit that story line but suppose they main characters and they have no relevance to the trinity case so they need something too do. Get a hunch that quinn will find out the truth about dexter in a few episodes.cant wait.

  15. think the last 10 minutes of the last dexter episode is some of the greatest televison ive ever seen. this show is deffo up there with the sopranos and the like as one of the best shows ever!

  16. Yeah, and how do you define 'best prospect in the world'?

...Because if you seriously think Nathan Cleverly is 'the best prospect in the world' you ain't got a clue about boxing. Sure, he's a good fighter, but Cleverly isn't even the best prospect in Wales.

tell me of a better prospect then??? and in wales?? lol.

  17. wonder if many people who backing kotelnik actually seen him fight. he lost too the average junior witter, drew too the awful m'baye and only won the world championship from probobly the worst world champion of all time in gavin rees. looking forward too two of the most anticipated domestic matches in a while.hall v small and cleverley v mcintosh. both should be explosive

  18. i fail to see the skill and martial art element in ufc. There boxing is appaling, there kicking is shite watch K1 if you want too see real kicks, all lesnar does his pick his opponents up slam them on there head and sit on them and punch them in the head and can do so easily not cause he is skilled but cause he is a big bastard!.

can some one tell me the skill or 'martial art' in what he does. fair enough some of the grappling and submissions is impressive but so is knitting and both are bout as intresting as watching paint dry and something kinda gay about two men rolling on top pf each other not doing anything.can see something as 'skilled' as this in the pub.just for a bunch of knucklehead gays (sorry guys)with no iq who think there hard in there shitty affliction tops :D

  19. Just watched the bisping ko. what a sickening thing too do to a man who was obviously out cold on the floor and then admitting after he knew bisping was out cold when he got in his second punch.that would never happen in boxing.ufc 100 showed what a nasty, boring, talentless sport it really is and will never have the class of boxing. they are all usually knackered after 2 rounds, disgraceful antics by lesnar after the fight, henderson hitting unconcious man whilst on the floor and generally 90% of the ufc fights being extremly boring once on the ground.guarentee this sport will be a flash in the pan and will be forgotten just like kickboxing was after the boom in the 90's and Boxing will regain its crown once the heavyweight soon as improved with its next crop of fighters.
