  1. General,

How much revenue is brought into the club from abroad as a percentage? I ask this as I suggest the tv revenue money from the UK will be far smaller in the future.

I suspect during this "credit crunch" one of the first money saving sacrifices families will be making is cancellation of Sky Sports astronomic tv prices?

Manure/ Liverplop are obviously big in Asia and no doubt have huge revenue from many foreign climes! Can we compete...... or will we be cautious with the wage structure/ transfer dealings to protect the liquidity of the club long-term?

And no, I'm not Herbert's long lost son!

  2. Didn't want to comment incase it caused offence:

Bloody awful. And no apparent focus within the picture.

But you can't account for everyone's taste though?! One man's MON is another man's Potato head!

  3. Negative.

    There are still labour supporters!

Baros and Defoe vs Knight to look forward to!

Baros will win three penalties and Defoe will score the first double hat-trick in the Premier league!

As previously said............ anything else will be a bonus.

But seriously, are there really any Labour supporters left?

Better a labour supporter than the other lot. Obviously you like pop idol

    ????????????????

    Pop Idol?

Must be naive me. Don't get it?

  5. Shan't watch semis.

    May watch final. Doubt it.

Disaster for the FA. Will they fill Wemberleeeeeeee three times with the clubs left? Will the corporate turn up?

To foreign fans the FA Cup looks about as attractive as the Kings cup. Never watched that and I bet not everyone even knows what it is?!

And for Villa......... Now we have to try and hang on for the intertwobob. Nightmare.

Enjoying a little chuckle at the FA's expense though!

  6. General,

Popped down to Villa Park today and can I sat how impressed I am with the cosmetic changes to date. The screen behind the North Stand surprised me! The directional signs are a welcome addition and The Holte pub looks impressive as you drive up! Along with the ground signs on the stands and the train station signs, the ground is really starting to impress!

  7. I tell you what then........

Lets do bugger all because it's all too hard to do! I think not knowing how many people are in the country syphoning money from our economy is quite the the most wonderful liberal lefty way to live? No id card - no rights and "turrah".

And public fear is one thing. What would you be thinking if you really knew what a state we are in? Though I do tend to think the id cards are ill thought out and knee jerk.

But, if you do no wrong, what's the problem?

The airport stuff is a nonsense - villains lie!

    No really - they do!

    Bottom line:

The politicians can't work it out so they just look after themselves and have great big wages and daft expenses! Nothing will happen until the next "big event" perish the thought we have rioting like France recently and then....worse!

    Oh happy thread!

  8. General,

Can I say to have someone involved at such a level at Aston Villa on the boards doing what you do has impressed me more than I can say. I feel more "part" of the set up than I thought possible!

Just to pass on my thanks regarding the earlier tickets enquiries, Nicky Keye has now got back to me on both counts. I wish to let you know that again the service that has been supplied has excelled.

    :flag:

The debit card issue is being tackled as the systems are upgrading.

The choosing of seats seems to be in the too hard to do box at the minute and may just stay there. This is a shame, but I appreciate Aston Villa holds over 40,000 whereas where this has worked well (Birmingham Hippodrome) the volumes are in comparison insignificant. Due to work I will never hold a season ticket and hence never get to choose my seat exactly. Minor gripe when in reality what I will struggle with is actually buying tickets if the good form continues!!!

Again, though I can see some posts must be frustrating, keep up the good work! Much appreciated! And if you are the type that does this: Pass on my thanks to Nicky for getting back to me!

  9. General,

After the strangest end to regular time American football on Sunday night! Bet you were shouting some when the Ravens were leaving the pitch!!!!!!!!!! I have another tickets question for you!

I see in earlier posts you are more approved of Debit card payments over Credit cards. I think you are right on that one. So could you answer me this?!

Why can't I pay online with my debit card?! Just because it doesn't have a start date? But I can buy as many tickets as I like with my better half's credit card??!! I don't have a credit card as I don't want one! Like to spend what I have, not what I would like to have in the bank!

To date I haven't had a response about about my question of booking front row tickets for youngster's viewsakes and am putting this down to meetings to see if it is possible?!

It won't stop me buying the tickets - popping into shop today and will buy tickets from the ticket office!

    Go Browns - playoffs beckon!

  10. Hello General!

First of all, Sunday must've been a day of mixed emotions. Top result for Villa but a bit of a frustrating day across the Atlantic. Had the Browns on an unnamed internet stream and the first few drives they looked outstanding. Must admit didn't watch the second half so was a bit surprised when I saw the Steelers had managed to "steel" it.

    To my question:

When booking tickets on-line on the os you can get to the block, but this then defaults to "best available seat". This isn't always ideal as when taking the younger generation their view is then obscured due to their height. Would it be possible to update this procedure to allow specific seats to be booked? i.e the front row of a block? I appreciate the system is probably in place to prevent single seats being left around the ground. Maybe selecting a row rather than just a block could be more workable?

As an adult I'd say the best available would be at the rear middle Holte for example. With the anklebiters, front row near the corner flag or goal would be ideal as they get to see their heroes up close and don't spend the match looking at the back of someones head?

Probably been asked before, sorry if it has.

Nuff respect for the number of sites that has a General thread! :notworthy:
