Because we lost a world class player. As things stand, I don’t think we’re better than a team with Grealish in it.

Its difficult to say really until we see how this season goes.

In my mind we have replaced Jacks 6 goals and 10 assists from last season with potentially a better output. Could see Ings beating that himself. Add to that Buendia and Bailey.

I guess looking further than just stats it would be about the space Jack used to provide for others but it feels like the team will be more balanced.

I don't want him to flop.  I want him to personally tear it up so all our words to other fans over the years are justified.  I want him to hammer Leeds, Wolves and West Ham etc but I want Man City themselves to have an absolute shocker  all his team mates to underperform and him to win as little as possible there in terms of silverware.

If he does tear it up the narrative will be because he went to City and Pep has coached him.

He'll look better. He's practically guaranteed to have more time on the ball now. We are talking about going from a side with about 48% possession to a side that will average mid 60%. That's literally another 15 minutes to share around the team. He will have the ball almost as much if not more especially if he plays through the centre which he should. He'll be their 2nd best player next season and their best in a year's time.

Again big IF here in that he actually goes.

    Silva 60%

    De Bruyne 58%

    Foden 47%

    Mahrez 57%

Thats apparently the % in minutes spent on the pitch last season. So he may get more chance when he is on but there is absolutely no guarantee he even plays 50% of the time, especially with his injuries.

I get ya. Thing is my certainty is based off the same uncertainty you have. We just look at the same situation from a different lens. That could be because you're closer to the action, anything.

You are 100% correct (a rarity in this thread), he is just a player. No one is bigger than the club. At best he stays, at worst he leaves amicably. There's a cohort of us who're 30+ (no upper limit) who'll just always be disgusted by new money.

Man City, they're just like pikeys who won the lotto.

Form is temporary, class is permanent.

I want nothing more than for it to play out and he stays. Mainly as I have a young lad who I am desperate to see Jack play for Villa.

I am in that cohort aswell and many of us have watched Jack for many years and done nothing but praise and back him to all and sundry as required. Now he has a taste of the big time it feels like he is going to bail and I guess that hurts a little which is where the emotional reactions come in. He won't get that backing from the City fans.

I have no idea but I feel disappointed he hasn't just said **** it lads I am in, thanks for everything over the years and **** off City 😁

This is just human conditioning. You're dealing with grief and equating it to expectations/what you would do.

Step back from the precipice - he's going nowhere.

Just remember last time mate. He signed the deal quicker than it was out in front of him when it was clear nobody was coming in for him.

I hope you are right but at the end of the day he is just another footballer. We should all be focusing on the rest of the players who are going to be here next season.
