He did some good and some not so good, and I’ve lived all through it. Whatever he did do I think he always had the best intentions for Villa. RIP Doug

I don’t know if this is sarcasm or not, he is a very good talent
Don’t forget before he joined us he played 1/2 a season for Bury in League 1.

Fantastic appointment and was my first choice. Looking forward to seeing the players get fitter and play his brand of footy. And added bonus is Terry who will insist on that winning mentality. Very Happy.

Roberto "420 no defence" Martinez
No thanks
Why on earth not......perfect for us as we don’t have a defence.

Off topic but Collymore really winds me up with his so called passionate tweets about his beloved Villa. He was an absolute disgrace with how he behaved when signed for us. One of the biggest let downs in my days as a villa fan.
COLLYMORE OUT!!
He was also suffering from depression. As a fan he is no different to you or me and only wants to see Villa win.
Collymore In.

Didn’t like his football but as a man and some of the things he went through and was still on the touch line he has my respect.

Whoever comes in I just want some attacking football instead of the defensive dross we’ve had to put up with over the last 2 years.

Get gone now.

Still want him gone

He’s got to be gone now

Think this will be the death knell for Bruce. But my god the referee has been bloody awful!

We’re going to get £60 million in Jan when we sell Grealish, that will give us some lee way.

That was painful too watch. One team seemed up for it and it wasn’t us.

Nonsense.
There is no hang over and he needs a better manager to utilise him better to get the best out of him again.
Most of our squad have looked mediocore average so far this season and that my friend lays squarely at the managers door.
Think you’re wearing you Jack Grealish glasses. I’m not doubting his potential or ability but his decision to pass is slow compared to some of his team mates. He dribbles with the ball but is currently struggling to know when to release it and when to hold. Over thinking.
When on his game he looks like he’s playing fluid football but at the moment he slows things down.
-
He’s been poor this season, I presume as a hang over from the spurs move. He needs to sort himself out or needs dropping to get someone else in who will play for the team.
-
Very disjointed. Not sure what Grealish adds at the moment.
-
3-1 if he goes with 2 up front. 2-2 if he goes defensive.
-
Disappointing, we’re just set up far too defensively when you look at the threat we have in attack. He’s got to get braver quickly.

I hope so but he will need to improve his attitude. We all face obstacles in life but it is how you deal with them that ultimately matters.
Surely the fact that he’s at Port Vale and the article that was released references things that happened in the past is enough to show there is nothing wrong with his attitude.

I’m sorry but I despair sometimes! It didn’t go the way I wanted it to for a few weeks so I stopped trying. Got a new advisor and he told me to start trying again so I did. Despite acting like a 3 year old I am definitely ready for Championship football! Of course you are mate............grow up! There is not a footballer alive who is worth a place in the team but gets constantly overlooked! If you are good enough you will get a chance.
Blimey, give the lad a break. It doesn’t matter whether he’s a footballer or not. Any negative feedback isn’t particularly nice to hear and we all react to things differently. I like him and think he will make it at Villa because I think he is good enough and he will build on his game time at Port Vale.
-
Good finish. Shame he bottled the tackle to allow the set up for their 3rd goal.
-
Surely we reached the stage where enough is enough.
-
4-3 Villa Brilliant attack, fragile defence.

I think Bruce sees Bree as a centre half rather than RB which a number of people have also commented on previously.

Then I’m afraid you will never be happy.
We all know the defence it a bit of a shambles, majority of the squad are away on international duty and to expect players to change, get fit and put into practise Smiths ideas in 5 days is completely unrealistic.
In addition none of the players here, bar Hogan from a previous club, is a Smith signing.
I will judge him once he’s been given an opportunity to build his squad, increase fitness levels and put his ideas across to his squad.
