Exactly as I said last week. Yet again England come unstuck against a below average but we'll organised defence sitting deep.
So deep all their pace means nothing. Grealish is a plan B. Except Southgate has no clue how to use him.

Are they that skint that they have to raise a big wedge of cash?
No idea. Just replying to other posters who are adamant missing out on CL has left them with £15 mill black hole

I can't see Newcastle offering straight cash and taking on £100k PW wages. Ashley wants out and can't escape. It's a big financial outlay.
While Bournemouth may be Interested in having Ritchie back, they will need to replace Wilson as a striker. Not getting cash combined with relegation hitting finances, I'd imagine they will be looking for cash up front for Wilson

They still need to sell really.
Whether it'll be him I don't know.
Them missing out on champions league is huge. I think they'd sell for under £35m.
Celtic don't have anyone else that will fetch 15 million plus. Would need to sell four of five players

Out of interest how does Romero get a work permit? I know he is a full international but was he granted one on arrival at United, is it in danger of not being renewed as he had barely played?
-
Looks a good player. His hair is an absolute disgrace though!

Genuinley stunned at the absolute revisionism around Wesley in this thread!
At times he looked decent, others he looked poor, quite often he looked quite lazy as well.
But now following a serious ACL injury added to his already wonky legs he is going to come back as the second coming of Messi?
Ok lads
He's decent, may be a solid back up option if he does come back and hit ground running, never going to be a starting CF for a top half team

Listen, Romero is a superb goalkeeper. Everytime he has been called upon for united he has been outstanding.
Him and Heaton will both think they can be number 1, good competition. Plus Heaton is injured alot, so at very least it's good for us.
Fee is an absolute snip for GK of that quality

Honestly. Just stop dealing with Brentford full stop.
Fair play to them of course, but it's clear they bring on excellent players, but you'll never get value from them, as they demand wildly excessive fees.
We know they don't barter by now! If we don't want to pay asking price move on to other targets!!
We are going to be left holding our ducks yet again and having to sign a back up option on the quick

Has Watkins actually replied to that picture?
That's a great sign if he has. Why would he get involved otherwise?
What has Watkins replied to?

I'd bloody love Rondon tbf. The guy would be absolutely perfect for our set up as well.

Rondon or Kevin Gamiero or someone from Bundesliga (would've said Ibisevic from Berlin but he's 35 now) o
I totally agree Rondon would be an absolute no brainer IF he was available.
But the guy went to China on absolutely astronomical wages. He is probably on double what Grealish is on!
Absolutely no way he would come to Villa and take an enormous pay cut

No chance of that being the case, I would suspect at Brentford he is in 15k pw. No chance he would be offered any more than 40 to 45k otherwise our wage structure will suddenly go out of control.
Always rated watkins but there is not going to be many championship players we sign who could command more than 45k pw. And no one from Brentford.
Markets mad though, and with rumoured.interest from Leicester and West Ham who wouldn't blink at such wages it may well be true.
Very nervous about this one if I'm honest

Heaton is a great GK, if he didnt have over a years worth of injury absences in the last 3 years, i would find the link a bit strange, but however good i think Heaton is, i also think he needs high calibre competition, if for no other reason than he seems to have injury issues...
Oh I agree he needs excellent competition, but I dont see Martinez wanting to join us, if he is desperate for first team football, he will know it's far from guaranteed

You would assume he would start the season for us and then it's his shirt to lose. If he is playing well I'm pretty sure Dean would keep picking him when Heaton is fit.
Matter of opinions, but for me there are very few GKs who will keep Heaton out of the team when he is fit. He is that good.
If it wasn't for his rotten luck with injuries he'd be Englands number 1 a long time ago

Hes not going to get a club with zero competition
Well no obviously not! But of course other clubs will be looking to sign him as their first choice!
I don't think there is any chance we would sign him giving him the narrative that he would likely be first choice ahead of Heaton
-
Can't see Martinez, he would cost more than that and wants to leave for first team.football. he won't get it once Heaton is fit.
Heaton is a genuinely brilliant goalkeeper

Maybe the reason that he is back the next game is that he goes off with the knock as opposed to playing on and worsening it and thus missing more time?
No, agreed just pointing out we need good back up with him as first choice as he does have a tendency to pick up knocks more than most

-
He's excellent going forward, decent defensively, however he is soft as #@*#!
Several times this year he has gone off with minor knocks but back the next game.
Still comfortably our best left back in years

His argument makes no sense. Jack gives a different style to all those players mentioned. It's why we have no plan B. When we come up against an average but we'll organised defence the pace of rashford et al means nothing as you cannot get in behind them. It's why time and again we come unstuck against these well drilled sides.
Keep picking your four fast clones, you'll keep having the same issues. Foden and Jack offer something different

If the rumours about Eze available for £16m are true then get him in ahead of this lad. Young British, looks the type of player who could step up into Jack's position should he leave but also excellent on both wings. Real potential and in today's market that's an absolute snip

I struggle to keep up. Last week a lot on here were saying he was the one to watch. When he says it you know there something to it? I've no idea about him, only followed him due to what was said on here!

Nixon on Twitter claiming we going in hard for Édouard. Claims will be big spenders as want Watkins as well and price willing to pay putting other clubs off
Be an excellent signing for me

Glad it looks likes he is going to Newcastle.
Must admit I find it odd a player is so set on Newcastle when it's us against them.
I suspect there is a takeover imminent up there and he has been sold the vision. No way Ashley is signing all of these players
