  1. piling to the front was the problem at Hillsborough...

this is a great idea and i hope we can be the first to implement it. cheap tickets would bring the crowds back to villa, i think we could easily get 60,000 at villa for the big matches if people could get tickets for £10 a match.

  2. Would anyone seriously not buy a kit if it had one brand instead of another, even if it was the same design

Nike is somewhat exclusive whilst Macron is incredibly shit. It is easy as that, brand recognition. Have you ever

seen a car from afar and kept you eyes on it, before realizing it was not a Porsche but a Hyundai?

Another thing, this template thingy is kind of strange to me. The kits never look like the templates in real life anyway, and

all producers would look the same on a template.

agree. and the same with these mock ups, they don't look too awful but that's because they're a well executed CG image, no indication of what it would really look like. you can't see the actual shape of the shirt because it's on a template an you can't see the quality of the material and the way it hangs. on paper some of our recent hummel kits don't look terrible but in real life they're shit because the material and printing was absolutely awful. for me at least, and i'm absolutely right, nike drifit is the best for how it looks, feels and works. although how many actually play in their football kits?

  3. Yuck.

Whoever we get it wilol be similar. Blue sleeves and Claret Body. Would you like it more if I took of the Macro logos and put a Nike logo.

err, yes? that's the point of not wanting macron. there wouldn't be the stupid man on each arm, for one. cheap materials and ugly template 'styling'.

we'll have the same shirt as west ham with a villa badge. horrible.

as i have previously said though, since so many people seem to be suggesting people are so upset over this - I don't care what the sponsor is and how the players look on the pitch, but i'm not going to buy one. simple as that.

  4. i have bought kits for years, even hummel :wow: , but if we were to switch to macron i wouldn't be buying one. i don't care what they wear on the pitch, but i'm not going to put one on and i would think quite a few others might feel the same.

it's a shame that the villa brand has plummeted all the way back to where it was with ellis.

  5. I'd thought he would've got an assist atleast by now, perhaps he will come good eventually but it's not like he came from another league or anything and as I said before he left us in decent form too.

according to pundits hes been playing well but just the end product has been lacking, but then it's a results business. could be that his style doesn't fit in with the rest of the team, although you'd have thought him and carroll would be ideal for each other.

  6. true. i think you have to wonder where the line is. we could be playing like stoke and be in 8th position, but if it is so ugly to watch, what's the point? was it stoke or someone else in their first year in this league where they grabbed a goal early on and time wasted for 80 minutes? i don't think i could watch that even if we were pushing the top four.

what is even worse is that our players strengths are to not play backs against the wall, ugly shite, yet that's how we're playing at the moment.

  7. He should have kept his trap shut and he owed us more loyalty than he showed. Still, I don't know why some fans insist that Milner and Young should get free passes while Downing is the only one we should be allowed to slag off. They all left for exactly the same mercenary reasons, at times when Villa was clearly on a downward slide. I don't think we should delude ourselves that there is some great difference between loyal, hardworking Young/Milner and lying, treacherous milquetoast Downing. To be fair to him, in the first half of last season he looked like the only player (Young included... maybe Albrighton excepted) who could be bothered to play properly, and but for his effort we might be in the Championship now.

My own stance is that all the players who left because the grass elsewhere was greener are fair game to be booed, since our own grass is now considerably less green as a result of their self-interest. However I recognise the contribution they made and I'm not going to pretend they're some kind of heinous villains. If we can put them off their game in front of their new bosses, though, why not.

young and milner at least showed a modicum of respect towards villa, and they owed us less than downing did, sitting on a pretty new pay package for months while we rehabilitated him and put him in the shop window. both milner and young loved it here, milner puts in more effort than any other player in the league, and young never shirked tackling responsibilities and he was never scared to put his body on the line to win the ball. downing however had one pretty good season but was always susceptible to bottling his defensive duties, and at times when the players really needed to pick their bollocks up and fight for a result. quite talented, but his effort was never for the sake of the villa, something which i saw in young and milner almost every match.

that is why i think people give ash and jim a free pass.

The others get a "free pass" because they didn't leave for big bad Liverpool. Thats the truth of the matter for a large portion of Villa supporters.

Why doe's that never get said?

    Gareth Barry?

  8. IMHO the formation is part of the problem, there are huge gaps all over the pitch and nobody is moving or making moves, Collins and Dunne (when not hoofing) are driving forward from the back and playing balls into the feet of the opposition. We have too much space and are far too defensive, meaning we're not getting the balls to Bent quick enough and he is being left isolated as others are too far away.

    Out formation seems to end up like this;

i'm not sure that's accurate, i would go for something a little more like...

  9. Well if I'm not gonna laugh I'll cry.

Anyway, the one thing AM seems to be rather decent at the moment is he can get results against the smaller teams. Apart from West Brom where we got a red card. But wait a second...

The West Brom match was **** disgraceful regardless of the red card. We had a total of zero shots on target according to the BBC match report. I mean, how is that possible? Even with 10 men we should still be a match against West Brom. It's not like Herd was Milner and he didn't even get sent off until the 36th min. Zero shots on target at home against West Brom should be a sackable offence.

And the others we drew against were mostly lucky on our part. Even Newcastle dominated us (13 shots on target, us 3 shots on target) and this was at home as well.

I refuse to believe it's because of the kids in midfield considering they boss Man Utd (Albrighton and Bannan). It was the same rubbish defenders who let us down in that match.

Our midfield talent is being wasted under this manager.

**** me, i agree with you

  11. the worst moment was when he was running backwards into our penalty area shadowing suarez, who only had to look left before collins span to his right, and with the turning circle of the titanic decided to carry on turning in an attempt to get back around to the other side. problem was, suarez had already managed to get the ball out from under his feet and take the shot before collins' view had even made it past the corner flag.

  12. Yes it was and it was retweeted by Charisma Agbonlahor. At least 10 people from Cambridge have confirmed it as genuine and taken at around 3pm.

if that's true then Charisma needs to **** off and stop trying to make trouble.

and honestly, some of you are ridiculous. **** Columbo's, everywhere.

  13. MON says it, so it's true?

Managers and player are always more protected than clubs in football, MON could have easily made there be no option but for Villa to 'sack him', even if it was as simple as a massive falling out with Lerner but not accepting mutual consent because he 'technically' hasn't broken a contract.

When he says "i didn't break a contract", it sounds a lot more like "my lawyer found a loophole" to me.

Neither you nor I know the truth; saying its a loophole, might or might not be the truth, but you haven’t presented any evidence. Lots of hearsay on this, but little real evidence of anything. Neither side comes out of it with little credit, and Villa’s board post MON have looked fairly clueless.

well that's my point, no one knows so to say the the evidence points towards him being sacked is a ridiculous claim. all the evidence we have could be construed either way.
