as much as I love carew, I am not dissapointed that he isnt starting, he the same as everyone needs to earn a starting spot, and in preseason he didnt do very well. Now heskey, he played well.

no brainer.

dont see the problem with carew on the bench. heskey has probably been the best striker this preseason so surely deserves to start? carew looked sluggish against scotland, though improved as the game went on. i think hes still a bit short of full match sharpness. heskey wont last the whole game anyway so john will come on at some point.
