Having trouble keeping hold of the ball at the moment.

Just seen the two goals. Lovely strike from Adomah. This is a bit more like it!

Thing is, I haven't come away from that match feeling happy, or buoyed, or excited like I used to. I've come away from it feeling like it was a chore. We won. We've got some good results in the league. But winning while playing badly all the time is unsustainable.

Well, we won where we might previously have collapsed, but there were still lots of points of concern. Snodgrass was good but looks miles off full match fitness, we had trouble maintaining possession, and the signings of Elmo and Whelan baffle me - as does the way the team wilts after the half-time break. When we moved the ball forwards with pace we looked far better; does moving too high up the pitch give Bruce nosebleeds or something?
Johnstone's improved massively, the two goals were nicely taken and I enjoyed watching Kodja barrelling through their players. I'd like us to win comfortably once in a while, though.

He's right, Ted.

Johnstone has improved so much since last season.

Some good last-minute blocks, but I'd really rather it didn't come down to that.
Whelan is a liability.

**** off Whelan.

Loved Kodja steaming forward to win the free kick, and that's a good free kick. I think the keeper will feel he should have stopped it, though.
-
Good stop by Johnstone, but we've gone to pieces when we should be pushing on.
-
Awful. Whelan can do one.

A couple of bright moments, solid defensively albeit against a team that hasn't offered much in the way of genuine attack, and a half-time lead, but this isn't the expansive, exciting football we've been promised.

The Forest defence's passing is so sloppy!
-
Damn, should gave been two.

We're being too wasteful with the final ball.

Damn! Nice ball in from Snodgrass.

Not warranted on the balance of play, but it was a lovely pass and an assured finish. Lovely.

That's two blatant identical handballs now. Plus a goals rules out that was a foot inside. This ref is doing everything in his power to shaft us.
Benefit of the doubt. There's a good chance he's just incompetent.

In the real world, Villa just won the Champions League again. Frankly it's getting boring.

Good lad, Davis.

Just joined the match in time to see Gabby come on. Why does it have to be this way?

I haven't seen it, but it could be an Everyman pin badge in support of a prostate cancer charity.

A good result given the performance. Terry was poor to give away the free kick and lucky not to make it worse with his flailing arms. Elmo's crosses were poor and Thor continues to be pump, no matter what the biased commentator paid by Villa to big up the players said last match. Bruce's insistence on changing from a successful formula is baffling.

As Dick mentioned above, if we could play the ball out with a little more calm it would help. Our defence has looked pretty solid so far, but if you pile pressure on anything for long enough it'll crack.
