Well this is proving to be eventful.

Anyone can go behind by a freak goal from an individual mistake. The true measure is what you do next. We passed the ball around hoping Derby's defence might part like the Red Sea because we lacked the guile or gumption to actually force the attack. Derby didn't really have to try, so they didn't.

I know we've got injuries, but Bruce's stubborn insistence on sticking with Onomah - a player who I haven't been impressed with even once this season - and even worse putting him up top rather than playing a recognised striker has hamstrung us today. Snodgrass was poor, Whelan is abysmal. At least Gresford looked up for it, and Johnstone rescued us from poor decision making and poor passing several times. You can argue about whether or not it's the right time to sack him, but I'm becoming increasingly convinced: We're not going to do this with Bruce at the helm.

Quite. We've been moving the ball around nicely, but that's because Derby have been letting us knowing that they can drop 9 men back behind the ball and we'll be powerless to break them down. I'm always frustrated by how eager we are to play a safe backwards pass in an advanced position, but we've lacked a focal point up front and our players, as ever, seem static and unwilling to make runs. 

We've made this easy for Derby. Despite being a goal up they've not really done much, but with our toothless attack they haven't had to.

Thank goodness Johnstone reacted quickly to that.

Playing tippy-tap around the opponent's box, the ball is played to Snodgrass who's strolling away with his back to play. The very least you can do is try to pay attention, Robert.
