    how is he better ? Robben playing one great game in 5, or Barry doing the business week in week out ? NO CONTEST as for Solano. i stand 100% behind my he never turned up away comment. i trust my own eyes. he was a disgrace on the road the majority of the time

    well, i believe you're wrong but you're entitled to your opinion. Solano wasn't fit to wipe Barry's boots as far as i'm concerned. if he'd ever bothered to turn up for an away match things may have been different of course. a few silky passes, and free kicks do not maketh a great player. Barry is a rare 7-8/10 player week in week out but Barry suffers from the same problem a lot of our homegrown/raised players do. some supporters think less of them because they cost nothing for what its worth, i wouldn't swap Barry for any left sided player in the premiership. that's how important i feel he is to our side

    Barry, was not only our best player last season, he has been for about 5 seasons on the trot. as for Petrov, i assume you're having a laugh ? granted that performance away to West Ham was excellent, but the very fact you had to go back that far says it all about Stan. one great game all season maybe, just maybe O'Neill's about to cut his losses on him and ship him out and replace with better ? and lets face it, you'd find a better player than him far quicker than you would Barry. i think thats a given

    if we spent that much and brought that lot in, and were still only challenging for the 'top six' i think we'd best pack up. we should be challenging for sixth spot with just a few quality additions nevermind that lot but there's no way we're after all of em anyway. maybe one or two. the rest are just lazy journos putting 2+2 together

    why on earth would ANYBODY drop our best player by a mile, from a new look midfield ? what exactly had Petrov done to earn his place in the middle alongside RC ? Sneijder Barry Reo-Coker Young ... perhaps

    we did yes, with two forwards playing the wide roles. not sure you can call Sneijder a forward! not that we'll get him anyway mind

    i'd love to see Petrov's face if he was demoted to the bench. can't see O'Neill spending 8m on him, 8m on Reo Coker (TBC) to only play one of em in the middle and Barry should be a CERT in any Villa side. and i'm tempted to say Young should be too after his strong end to last season

    correct me if i'm wrong but didn't Spurs buy quite a few of their players from championship clubs ? Dawson Huddlestone Lennon Bale Robinson (possibly?) surely, the only criteria for signing a player should be for thinking he's good ? what league he plays in has no bearing on it at all

    so where would we fit in Reo Coker and Petrov then ?

    i can't see us spending that much on individual players to be honest. there are quite a few that we need to improve the team/squad, and spending 10+m on em isn't going to happen IMO we haven't got an endless pot of gold

    depends on what 'power' you thought/think we have i guess ? we may have money. but so does everyone else, some a lot more. and a lot of those teams above us may be wanting the same players. and some of those can offer European football too

    Darren Bent having said that. i don't think we'll spend over 9m on anyone this summer

    i sincerely hope we don't get involved in the madness of west ham united. the only players you should even dream about paying 70k a week are WORLD CLASS STARS not prem fodder like Parker/Johnson. its all for show and means nothing. i'd rather sign NOBODY honestly still. it'll be fun to watch em in a few years as they fall to bits!

    i couldn't care less if he's captain material or not. we already have our captain. and he's worth more than the entire west ham side put together. young reo will be a welcome addition mind

    i'd love the pair of em. but to be honest, i just can't see either of em wanting to come to Villa as we stand now. maybe in a few years time if we can get into Europe and raise our profile again. but not now

    i'd put my money on SWP ending up at West Ham for around 10-12m, which would be fine by me. i think he's massively overated now Bent on the otherhand, i'd pay up to 15m to snap him up. a 100% proven premiership goalscorer

    was watching sky sports news earlier. lots of transfer rumours but none featuring us i think a massive cash explosion is about to happen though as west ham are lining up BIG bids for everyone it seems. and newcastle will be the same when their takeover happens
